I didn't read any further into the rest of the "opinionated" statement.
The “air of inevitability” that is being created around Mitt Romney omits one glaring faact: that his numbers have not budged significantly, despite wide name recognition and frequent appearances showing his “common side”.
Mitt is, and always was, a member of the elite, who happens to have extraordinarily good fortune in selecting his background and parentage, and who has compounded on that good fortune by attendant passing good judgment in wealth formation and accumulation. As such, he does not have the recognition for the hardscrabble life of Rick Perry or even Rick Santorum, also of somewhat humble origins, son of an immigrant who worked his way up, and who lived under modest circumstances for many years.
But Mitt as “common man”? Not a fit.
