You’re absolutely right. We need to look into instant-runoff voting and ranked choice voting for our primaries. Otherwise a candidate can claim to “win” with a small plurality of the vote. Ron Paul could do it just as well as Mitt Romney could do it. This would be the biggest political scam I’ve ever seen if Mitt Romney is somehow anointed the nominee based on getting 20-something percent while the conservatives split the vote.
