One of the Libyan rebels who captured and then killed Libyan ruler Muammar el-Qaddafi was seen wearing a Yankees hat in one of the disturbing videos of the event.
Meanwhile, The New York Times has reported on the unhappy local phenomenon in which any number of crime suspects have a Yankees cap as part of their garb. And now, remarkably, in a video posted to YouTube, a North Korean youngster can be seen wearing a Yankees knit hat, with the telltale NY logo, as he takes part in the orchestrated mourning for Kim Jong-il, the country

On the Mets shirt, the one letter on the second line that's clearly visible is a "C". To the left of it is a straight line, which could be a "U".
I'd conclude that the shirt fully reads: "METS SUCK".
