LOL - I actually owned one of those Hallicrafters SW radios. I’ve never again had as good a receiver.

I had one just like this, too, back in the early 60s. I used to listen to Radio Moscow's English-language service for entertainment.

I made an Obama version of this somewhere. BTW, heard Radio Habana Cuba many times. They were even on the AM band for a while and sometimes they would “walk over” WTAM (then WWWE) on 1100 kc in Cleveland (I’m near Pittsburgh). Every once in a while when I cannot pick up “Coast to Coast AM” on 104.7 FM (Quinn and Rose’s flagship station), I go to 570, WKBN out of Youngstown, OH and I hear “Radio Reloj” (Radio Clock, like Cuba’s version of CNN that broadcasts “RR” in CW (.-. .-.) in the background. In winter, sometimes they would “walk over” WKBN.
