(JTA) -- Iran will close the Strait of Hormuz if its oil exports are subjected to foreign sanctions, the Islamic Republic's official news agency reported.

"If they impose sanctions on Iran's oil exports, then even one drop of oil cannot flow from the Straits of Hormuz," IRNA quoted Mohammad Reza Rahimi, Iran's first vice-president, as saying, referring to Western countries.

Oil from Persian Gulf countries travels through the Straits of Hormuz on its way to oil-importing countries around the world. The strait is the Persian Gulf's only outlet and is bordered by Iran, Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

Attempting to close the Gulf by force would be an act of war.

Iran can only “do” what we let them!

As soon as they start threatening ships in the straight, we knock the crap out of them.

It doesn’t matter if they’re scuttling their own ships or threatening others.

You don’t let them get close!

The Media is conspiring once again with Obama to get him re-elected. It’s things like the Strait of Hormuz that can undo all their carefully laid plans.

It's too bad that no one wants to build a large pipeline from Canada to Texas; and it's too bad Canada isn't willing to pump oil-sands oil through it.

Oh, wait a minute ... that's not it at all.

It's too bad that Obama refused to allow anyone to build a pipeline to carry “dirty tar-sands oil”.
