I shopped Amazon and LLBean and got all my stuff in spite of the blizzards in Denver so I’m pretty happy. Usually came in two to three days.
A bird in the hand....
Especially if Best Buy is generating a large portion of its profits from its credit card.....
To any Freepers who might be affected, BB is sending out giftcards through the email address associated with the account that had the order cancelled. Most of the giftcards are worth $20.
SO if you are affected, make sure to check any emails from BestBuy.
Sounds like BB has hired some of Obama’s finance idiots. They might try hiring folks who actually know technology next time.
I gave up on BB about 2 years ago after almost being robbed in the parking lot. The only one in our area is in a heavily Latino/black area of town. I went over to HHGregg and found them much more amenable. However, BB does have a better selection of items.
Consumers continually trade customer service for the lowest possible price ( I do it myself too frequently ) and we end up with these big box stores who don’t give a damn about the customer. If I were one of those who isn’t getting my order in time, I’d cancel it and demand a full refund.
Best Buy lost us years ago with their idiotic returns policy.
Our microwave stopped working so we purchased a replacement at BB. After plugging in the new one, we discovered the problem was with the electrical outlet. But BB would not accept a return of the microwave because “the box had been opened”.
I don’t need that kind of crap when HHGregg is right across the street.
Last time i checked Best Buy was not celebrating Christmas but was celebrating the “Holiday season” so maybe those folks will get their items before the season ends.
There’s good reason why I buy things from Amazon.com instead....
Amazon Prime has been amazing! I bought one item in a store this year...everything else online (most of it through Amazon.)
A couple of years ago, not long before Circuit City went under, I was in the market for a television. Both Circuit City and Best Buy gave me the run around, told me the item was in stock when it wasn't, trying to sell me anything but what I wanted, telling me I had to get the extended warranty, and shuttling me off to the line to get one of their credit cards, etc.
I went to Amazon and ordered the TV by accident. No warranty run-around, no credit card run around. I don't even bother to browse Best Buy anymore.
This is to be expected with Obamanomics. Companies are slashing prices, which slashes profits, which causes them to slash inventory and sales force.
This is what happens when Best Buy bashes Santa Claus.
all their commercials this year were attacking Santa.
wellll.....seems Santa Clause has the last laugh.
I’ve seen several of their hate Santa ads.
They’re total smegheads.
And they wonder why Christmas shoppers ordered $35 billion dollars worth of merchandise online as of last week. We haven’t set foot in a store this year and everything has arrived on time and it excellent condition....much of it shipped free!
Best Buy deserves to meet the fate of Circuit City.
There are so many other places to shop, especially online. Newegg smokes their prices 24/7.
I hope this burns them BAD!
Best Buy typically presses suppliers for extended payment terms and just in time shipments in Q4. Either holiday sales were much better than planned or Best Buy has some financial problems.
What's next... Maybe Best Buy will start charging a cover charge to come into the store... which you get back if you buy something..
I go to Best Buy as a last resort. They burned me a few years ago on a laptop, when they had their silly rebates. They advertised a laptop with a $100 rebate, and the local stores were sold out. So I ordered online. When I went to fill out the rebate form, it said in fine print "in store purchases only". But none of the stores had the laptop! And the ads did not mention this restriction at all. Buh-bye.
