SALISBURY — Three Charlotte men were arrested Wednesday after a failed attempt to return items at a Salisbury Walmart led to an armed robbery.
According to Salisbury Police, Diaundrea Hallman, Dontavius Pendergrass and Jihad Pittman were arrested in the parking lot after they pulled a stun gun on a Walmart loss prevention officer.
The men tried to return a king-size mattress pad at the 323 Arlington St. store about 6 p.m., but were turned away because they did not have a receipt, the report said.
Police said the men began causing a disturbance in the store and began walking toward the bedding aisle.
They were seen taking a queen-size mattress topper and leaving the old pad lying on the floor, the report said.
As Walmart officials tried to stop the men at the door, one of the men pulled out a Taser and pointed it at the officers.
The report said the man told loss prevention that he was going to “---- someone up,” whoever tried to stop them.
Police said the men got into a 2006 gray Pontiac and began driving away very fast, nearly hitting pedestrians in the store’s parking lot.
They were stopped shortly after by Salisbury Police and charged with felony robbery with a firearm or other dangerous weapon.
Hallman, 21, Pendergrass, 21, and Pittman, 20, were each given $50,000 bonds. All three were in jail Thursday morning.

They wandered over from Charlotte. Salisbury’s criminals don’t seem to have such unique names (close but not quite as good).

I worked with one of those Moms——she said they just make up the names.
She was a grandmother at 30.
Well they deserve some benefit of the doubt as far as “almost hitting pedestrians” in the parking lot, because one cannot go to WalMart in a car and complete the mission without “almost hitting pedestrians”, no matter how slowly you are going.
