After Kim Gaines found a small nativity scene in a box of old Christmas decorations, she decided it would look nice on her desk in the main office at Urbana High School.
Almost a week after she placed the figures on her desk, the school's secretary of eight years said she was called into Principal Kathy Campagnoli's office, where Campagnoli said staff members had told her the display promotes Christianity and that Gaines should take it down.
Gaines obliged and removed the nativity scene.
"I didn't want a big fight on my hands, but I was very upset over it," she said.

She should have brought a Menorah or a Kawanzaa basket.
Wonder when God is going to get tired of some of us trying to kill Him daily?
I see that she is leaving the school to work in a business she and her husband are starting. Mrs. Gaines, many many blessings on your business, may it thrive and prosper!

IIRC the Menorah is not a religious symbol according to the courts.
Kwanzaa is a imitation celebration and therefore not religious,

Yes,Kawanzaa is a cultural event. Putting a Menorah is the
same catagory as a Christmas tree is total B.S.!

I think I’ll remember the guy that was born around this time and when Easter comes, Same Deal.
If baby Jesus had been changed to baby Barry in that creche the secretary would have received extra vacation days.
I know they have a lot of private schools. Where my brother and his wife live, they have several private schools. My sister-in-law said about 50% of the kids go to public school and 50% go to private school.
