Boycott Chiquita Brands! Admittedly, easy for me because I don't like bananas. But from now on instead of not eating a banana a day, I won't eat TWO!

I’m just curious.
Bananas are .59/lb at my local grocer here in Hoosierland.
How much are they in say...Ottawa or Toronto?
How much does Canadian healthcare hit the costs of food?

Sounds like Obama has a Chiquita in his pocket.

I’ll stick with Bananco or Gorilla’s Choice.

If the Keystone XL pipeline gets built, the ecoweenies will be trying to get other useful idiots like Chiquita to boycott the oil because it is that nasty tar sands oil. Leaves more for me.

When we lived in Canada (late 90’s)....bananas were VERY cheap...like 39 cents/lb

Not only that, the sailors on those banana ships are wearing underpants made by 12-year-old Vietnamese girls who are only paid 32 cents an hour!

Starting well, how can Chiquita boycott tar sand oil. I don’t think they grow bananas in Canada, well at least not outside. And once they get the bananas to Canada what would they do that needs oil? You know typing Canada and banana can confuse the fingers. Well I guess they could put them in trucks? Does Chiquita have it’s know banana trucks in Canada?
has Hank ever been to Canada to eat a banana?

The ad, created by EthicalOil.org in response to the Chiquita oilsands boycott announced last week by ForestEthics, calls on Canadians to boycott Chiquita for its decision to rely on conflict oil from some of the worlds most odious regimes.
Bad writing is bad writing.

I understand what they are trying to do, but it’s in vain. This isn’t going to stop Arab oil from being sold. Getting bananas involved is, well, just bananas.

I’m just scratching my head as to why a banana company might be buying crude oil.
Is there also a Chiquita Banana Canada Refinery? I somehow doubt this.
What I don’t doubt is that some kneejerk enviroleftist cooked up this oilsands boycott idea, with no idea that Chiquita Banana had any way of distinguishing refined petroleum products produced from oilsands from any other refined petroleum products.
Meaningless symbolic boycott, meet meaningless drop in the bucket boycott. One can’t move the needle due to impossibility, the other won’t move it much.
To: HiTech RedNeck
The point really isn’t about Arab oil. It’s about punishing Chiquita for boycotting Canadian oil shale. If more and more companies get on that bandwagon....it won’t be good!

Why does Chiquita not like Canadian shale oil? Why does it not realize that any boycott of a fungible item is in vain?
