Perry: ‘The Obama experiment failed’
Globe-Gazette ^ | December 17, 2011 | John Skipper

MASON CITY — Calling the Obama presidency “an experiment that failed,” Texas Gov. Rick Perry pledged Saturday night to bring government spending under control and reduce the role of the federal government in people’s lives.

“Are you better off today than you were $4 trillion ago?” he asked a crowd of about 100 at a town hall meeting at The Music Man Square.

He said most of the problems the country faces stem from out-of-control government spending, too many taxes and too much regulation of business.

Perry said American jobs are not going overseas because of cheap labor abroad, as many people think.

“The main reason manufacturing left the United States is because it became so difficult to do business in the U.S. because of all the regulations and taxes,” he said.

“The EPA is my favorite federal agency to dislike,” said Perry.

He said new John Deere tractors built in eastern Iowa will cost $20,000 more next year because of new equipment required by the EPA. “It’s a great example of federal overreach,” said Perry.

“I want to make government as inconsequential as possible in your lives,” he said.

Perry is a strong advocate of securing the border with Mexico, using local law enforcement, National Guard troops, aviation support and fast response teams.

“When I am president, we will shut down that border within one year,” he said.

He stressed his experience as governor of Texas for 11 years and as a Washington outsider as things that distinguish him from most of the other Republican challengers.

“Who is most prepared? Who has the vision? Who has the experience? Who is most likely not to be absorbed by what goes on in Washington?” he asked.

“I’m the one outsider, the only one who has been fighting Washington from usurping the power of the states.”

Other Perry points:

• Congress should be a part-time job with members coming back to jobs in their districts when Congress is not in session.

• There should be a constitutional amendment requiring a balanced federal budget.

• There should be a 20 percent federal flat tax.

• He will veto any bill that has “earmarks” — money for pet projects — attached to it.

• He favors the proposed oil pipeline from Canada. “I’m an all-of-the above energy guy,” said Perry.

He said the framers of the Constitution and signers of the Declaration of Independence did not envision the oppressive country America has become.

“Our freedoms and liberties have become smaller and smaller. I’m not sure our founding fathers would recognize this country as it is today,” said Perry.

He said as a young man and as governor, he never intended to run for president but is committed to serving the country.

He quoted the Old Testament book of Isaiah, chapter 6, verse 8: “Here I am. Send me.”

Rick Perry say’s if “they have his back in Iowa,” he’ll “have their back in Washington D.C.” And he means it.

Does anyone honestly believe the Chinese are more entrepreneurial than the USA?

They cheat and lie, they steal copyrights.

We are the driving force of change on this planet.

No they are crony capitalists. Government tampering with free enterprise and trying to central plan it all.

Just like Obama is trying to do.

“The main reason manufacturing left the United States is because it became so difficult to do business in the U.S. because of all the regulations and taxes,”

And Perry had an honest conversation with the farmers in Iowa.

Dec 13, 2011 - Presidential Candidate [Perry] Holds Agriculture Conference Call [30 minute audio]

It's interesting to listen to the exchanges in that call. Gov. Perry tells it straight. He says NO subsidies for ethanol, oil and gas, etc. -- and CUT regulations on the other end. Let the free market decide; if states want to fund local business, that's fine but keep the Feds out of it.

________________________________________________

......"“We don’t need to have government picking winners and losers in this business,” Perry said during a news conference in Des Moines. “Let the folks get out there with the regulations off their back. I have a good idea that the farmers in Iowa can compete with anybody in the world.”...... August 27, 2011: Perry wants a “level playing field” & an end to ethanol mandate (audio)

Perry understands this little notion of “Freedom”

Freedom for you or I to be the next big deal.
China rips off thinkers and trys to make a quick buck.

How should I say this? These folks don’t understand freedom,They cant design their way out out a wet paper sack.
They are expert counterfeiters, but while they copy, WE move on and shape the world.

When you’re truthful and comfortable in your own skin, people move in your direction.

There is a “joy” with Perry when he campaigns.

Calling the [zer0] presidency “an experiment that failed,” Texas Gov. Rick...

Kudos to Rick for attacking the zer0. However, he *should* expand on this experiment thing... It is NOT an "experiment" that's new. It is quite old... ongoing here in the USA for many, MANY years, since before FDR. And it's an experiment performed to failure many MANY times before in many failed socialist, communist, fascist, Maoist states. In fact there is NOT ONE occurrence of this experiment, of many occurrences, that ever, Ever, EVER succeeded. NEVER!

You are 100% correct.

................"Their cynicism flows from the very perception they have of right and wrong. They do it for higher ends. They do it for the progressive faith. They do it because they see themselves as having the power to redeem the world from evil. It is that terrifyingly exalted ambition that fuels their spiritual arrogance and justifies their sordid and, if necessary, criminal means.

And that is why they hate conservatives. They hate you because you are killers of their dream. Because you are defenders of a Constitution that thwarts their cause. They hate you because your "reactionary" commitment to individual rights, to a single standard and to a neutral and limited state obstructs their progressive designs. They hate you because you are believers in property and its rights as the cornerstones of prosperity and human freedom; because you do not see the market economy as a mere instrument for acquiring personal wealth and political war chests, to be overcome in the end by bureaucratic schemes.

Conservatives who think progressives are misinformed idealists will forever be blind-sided by the malice of the left by the cynicism of those who pride themselves on principle, by the viciousness of those who champion sensitivity, by the intolerance of those who call themselves liberal, and by the ruthless disregard for the well-being of the downtrodden by those who preen themselves as social saints.

Conservatives are caught by surprise because they see progressives as merely misguided, when in fact they are fundamentally misdirected. They are the messianists of a religious faith. But it is a false faith and a self-serving religion. Since the redeemed future that justifies their existence and rationalizes their hypocrisy can never be realized, what really motivates progressives is a modern idolatry: their limitless passion for the continuance of Them." David Horowitz

Democrats Unveil the Weapon of the Future ............"It's scarcely arguable that, in the political sense, liberalism is on the ropes. Obama spent their last nickel. They have lost the House and will lose the Senate, with little chance of regaining them in the near future. The same is true of the White House once the messiah gets the bum's rush come 2012. Liberalism is on the skids, its programs uniform failures, its ideology barren, its slogans worn out, its long hold on the independents being relentlessly pared down by the Tea Parties.

So what is a political movement to do, particularly one as fanatic and apocalyptic as this one? Well, if you have an alternate system made up of outside organizations not subject to governmental oversight, a system populated with self-selected fanatics and true believers, a system poised and ready to march, you can do what was done in Wisconsin. You can turn the superstructure loose to threaten the public peace, smash things up, abuse the electoral process, create a media spectacle, and pressure the state to do things your way. You can use nonpolitical organizations (in the electoral sense) to get a political result." -- the "liberal superstructure".
