You do realize he’s running for President, executive head of the federal gov’t and not dictator, right? What you allow in your state is on you and you fellow residents. That’s why he talks about “growing citizenship back home” when the federal gov’t is reduced.

I know exactly what hes saying.. You MUST increase the size of State gov’t BEFORE you can reduce the size of federal government(IN A BIG WAY).
MAybe you didnt notice this is just a “TRICK”..
YOU are being tricked.. bambooozled, flumoxed.. SCREWED..
RINOs just love being “RAPED” in this way..
Exactly. People need to remember the duties of the office sought.
Another possible benefit of returning power to the states is that people might pay more attention to state and local politics. We can’t know that for sure, but reducing power at the federal level will give us the opportunity to find out.
these days, $50k or more is the top 10% ($343k or more is the top 1%)
Never heard of it. ;)
Can you explain how Beck is parsing what Newt said?
Oingo Boingo reunion at the White House Inaugural - I'm there!!
We need more breathless articles in the Atlantic like this one.
Never a bad thing to let the market work the way it’s supposed to work.
Only good things I remember on T.V. were Murder She Wrote and Father Dowling. Of course, considering what’s on today, even that might be an improvement.
I want a new episode of Moonlighting.

Well, it isn’t quite the same, but if you ever watch Psych on USA, you can occasionally get Moonlighting meets LA LAW (Cybill Shepard and Corbin Bersen).
Also a lot of 80’s references.
What scares me is that 80’s fashion is coming back! Ugh!
Jack Hunter did a column on it today in the Daily Caller but he's not the only source on it.
So what do we do with that? Ignore it & hope for the best?
It's all a big headache.
PS I'd love to get back the 1980's, even have the Size 4 Catsuit somewhere that I used to wear. But really those days are over -- and we've got to move on, taking only the best of our values, our knowledge and our history with us into the future.
I'm thinking Newt and the Catsuit probably don't belong on the trip.
Speaking of “resurrections”, check this tune out.

Don’t be mislead, it picks up... Great lyrics, too. I don’t think photoshopping Newt into it works, though!?
Three words.
Ronald Wilson Reagan
I love that graphic!
Phil...we need a Reagan now, even more than we needed him after Carter.
I hope we get one...
You are tempting me, reaganaut! :) I’ve not had a tv for many years now. Been thinking it wouldn’t be a bad idea, given the election year, to invest in a tv, a clicker and a well-tricked-out La-Z-Boy.
Throw in a good tv drama and I may just yield!
LOL. We have a TV, we just don’t have it hooked up to cable (or an antenna), just our DVD player. I watch Psych (about the only show I watch anymore) online and get the DVDs when they come out.
And Psych isn’t really a drama, more like a mystery comedy - the main character (whose parents are played by Bernsen and Shepard) solves crimes by pretending to be a psychic. It is funny and actually well written if a bit over the top. Other than a few shows that I watch previous seasons of, that is the only show that holds my interest (partly because of the 80’s references).
I’m not sure I could go back to watching TV all the time, my SIL and MIL both are TV addicts, the TV is on from the minute they wake up until they go to bed, even if they leave the house (supposedly to keep the cats company).

That is just so wrong!
