Still waiting for you to name the candidate better than Gingrich, who actually has a chance.

Will do.

I was lurking here during the massive purge of the “Border Bots” back when George W. Bush, Karl Rove, and Ted Kennedy were working with Juan McCain and Lindsay Graham to pass “Comprehensive Immigration Reform.”

I clearly remember what happened in the 2006 congressional elections (the Republicans lost the House and the Senate) and the 2008 presidential election when Juan McCain won the nomination (Obama won the White House and Democrats picked up seats in the House and Senate).

There is a lesson to be learned in the 2006 and 2008 elections: when Republicans support open borders RINOs like Juan McCain and Newt Gingrich, they fail to win the Hispanic vote, but they succeed in alienating conservatives and independents who defect in droves.

Now, we are poised to go down the same road again. It is a road which predictably ended in disaster in two of the last three elections.

What’s the difference between 2006 and 2008 and 2010? In 2010, the Republicans won back many of their supporters who defected over the Bush-Rome push for “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” and the Juan McCain presidential campaign.

In 2010, Republicans didn’t have to run with the albatross of a pro-amnesty RINO like Juan McCain or Newt Gingrich dragging down the rest of the ticket. They could run against Obama alone who united conservatives and independent voters. The 2010 midterm elections were a landslide victory in the Midwest and South.

But now, having learned absolutely nothing from history, we are gearing up for another yawn inducing Juan McCain-style campaign in which a pushover candidate who will fracture the conservative base will be put against Obama.

It should be interesting here to see the reaction when Gingrich loses to Obama.

Romney is THE backstabber in America now.
His saboteurs WILL NEVER stop.

If Romney is not selected, TEAM ROMNEY will
work again for Obama (like 2008 and 2010).

Romney should be thrown out of the GOP now
for what he did in the past to GOP candidates
and their children.

Nope.

I’m not a Ron Paul guy. He has a terrible record on immigration. I am supporting Michele Bachmann in this race.

The difference between Paul and Newt Gingrich though is that Paul has a twenty to thirty year track record of being a purely negative force in Congress. He votes “no” on everything he believes is unconstitutional. He has principles.

Paul is predictable even if you disagree with his policies. OTOH, Newt Gingrich has a proven track record of falling for the most insane ideas like a lunar colony or “red cards” for illegal aliens or supporting global warming with Nancy Pelosi.

You are supporting Bachmann who has less than 4% of the vote.

Now, that will accomplish something. lol

But your Paulist foreign policy credentials remain intact.

From where I am standing, I have seen Rick Perry and Herman Cain rise and fall. Now there are people trying to force Newt Gingrich on us. No thanks.

look closer at Romney’s often mentioned anti-illegal immigration legislation. it’s complete BS. he passed a law a month before leaving office which was then reversed a monrh after his democratic replacement took office. Let’s not forget, Romney permanently banned assault rifles in Mass. Does that sound conservative to you? He also ran as a pro-choice candidate. Is that conservative? Romney is basically a democrat plant. he does seem to be their favorite candidate in case you haven’t noticed. Is it any surprise?

This reminds me of Juan McCain's "Everyone is my friend" BS.

If Newt Gingrich is the best we can do be prepared for 4 more years of Obama.
