Please.
They can “invent” themselves any way they want. It doesn’t make them what they are.
And make that, not how ‘we’ think but rather how ‘you’ think.

Since Newt seems given to stating obvious truths, I wonder if there is a chance he might state the truth about those April 27, 2010 birth certificate images.

Yes, Newt is right, it is not Israel that is the problem regarding peace in the Mideast.

"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct 'Palestinian people' to oppose Zionism. "For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa. While as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan."
(PLO executive committee member Zahir Muhsein, in a 1977 interview with the Dutch newspaper Trouw.)

Lets say Newt is elected, would he keep this perspective? Ive seen waaay too many conservatives get corrupted or coerced by other forces. No reason to think he wouldn't keep the perspective - he's the first to verbalize it and "damn the torpedoes".

ABC radio news was gleefully playing Newt’s comment on the Palestinians as though it was some kind of gotcha moment on par with Rick Perry botching the number of justices on SCOTUS. They played his comment, then followed it with a member of the Palestinian government disputing his assertion and scolding him for making it. I’m sure the ABC newsies thought it was devastating. But anyone who’s aware of the history of the region knows Newt was dead nuts right.

Wow, that is quite a quote.

Yes, once again, he shows he is a mouth looking for a place to run off. The pin has been removed from the grenade, it is just a matter of when newt will pop off.
