Mexican officials said Wednesday they had broken up a plot to smuggle a son of the late Libyan dictator MoammarGadhafi, Al-Saadi Gadhafi, and his family into Mexico under false names and with false documents.
The elaborate plan, which allegedly involved two Mexicans, a Canadian and a Danish suspect, also involved opening bank accounts and buying properties in Mexico that were to have been used as safe houses by Mr. Gadhafi, Interior Secretary Alejandro Poire said.

Gee, I wonder where he was going to go after he got into Mexico?
Judging by the thread info, property was bought for safe houses, and a Canadian was involved. Maybe for money laundering. There may have been plans for entry into the US, who knows...?
I'm guessing the Canadian and Danish suspects weren't Amish. The two Mexicans were probably just corrupt officials.
Why Mexico unless you want to get close to us for some reason? If i were in his situation I’d stay as far away from the US as possible unless i wanted to pick a fight.
Nitwits! The Mexicans should have let him in, transfer his money, then arrest him and confiscate his money. How hard would that be?
Saif Al-Islam, (damn he gets tired of being called Qaddafi’s son) is intent on obtaining his NAFTA CDL’s so he can just drive his big rig into Kansas and apply for his “rights”. Then it’s off to Chi-town to enter politics. He will of course have his Columbia and Harvard diplomas in hand and perhaps a birth certificate. Having successfully triumphed with his dramatic life-changing feats he in offered a reality show with Joey Bayhard and Okra Winfried. Life is good!
