Isn’t this the first thing they teach in women’s defense classes? And who said there are “rules” for defending yourself when attacked? What if this victim had jabbed his fingers into his attacker’s eyes? Would that be “sexual harassment”?
A salute to the proper way of handling a bully!
And I suppose chocking someone, trying to steal their property is just “boys being boys” in this school district... SMH.
Hmmm, I have to wonder if this mother, Tasha Lynch, is quoting "the school" correctly.
There is a legal definition of "sexual harrassment" in school districts. And one boy kicking another boy --in the testicles --one time --in self-defense, ain't it.
Usually sexual harrassment policy definitions have wording like "pervasive" and "hostile environment." In other words, an act that occurs just once, and in the absence of a "pervasive and hostile atmosphere," doesn't qualify as sexual harrassment.
Kicking someone in the testicles might qualify as assault. But if it was truly self-defense then nothing should happen to the kid.
Since we decided that it was unfair that blacks comprise a disproportionate share of lawbreakers.
You have to manufacture crimes to charge non-Eric Holder people with so that you can even-up the statistics.
It’s no wonder civilization is collapsing; our entire nations are being run by neurotic hysterics who freak out at the littlest things that kids do, both for fun and to defend themselves. Goes without saying that the sane will leave and the ones who break will stay and become slaves to the neurotics, forever tiptoeing around them in fear.
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
And yet they want to be able to put young girls on the pill without parental permission, take them for abortions without parental permission, give graphic sex ed without parental permission, and so it goes, and this poor kid was simply defending himself and now he's risking being branded a sex offender???
How twisted is our system.
I'll bet the kid comes form a conservative family or the kid who was the bully is connected with the school somehow.
Say, whatever happened to the kid who deserved to get kicked being charged with bullying?
Moral of the story: Get you kids out of public schools ASAP at all costs........
That’s Massachusetts. Parents either have no rights at all or simply assume it is so and do not challenge. Massachusetts is a Homosexual State and the school system is totally run by an alliance of homosexual activists and lesbian feminists.
What good would that do? The Marxists running the socialist schools would be laughing at you as you walked out the door.
If you really want to make a point, hit them in the wallet. Remove your child and encourage other parents to do the same. No kids means no funding which means closed socialist schools.
Absolutely! Good post, metmom, thanks.
I got strangled from behind in second grade by a bully into unconsciousness. I was the new kid, and small. Come 7th grade, a bully came up behind me in the locker room as I was getting out of the shower and slung a towel around my neck and pulled. Wasn't gonna happen again. I leaned back into him and shot my right foot between his legs and lifted him off the floor. I was dressed and gone before he could stand up... and not he, nor his friends ever messed with me again.
I started all my kids in karate in early grade school, and later trained them in kali (also called escrima, an art which I have instructed for 25 years). My daughter defended her little brother, for which I got a phone call from the principal, and her brother got suspended for defending himself. Enough. They both became homeschooled. My children will not submit to being assaulted for any asswipe's feelgood policies. I carry .40 cal and won't either.

Bingo to this and your prior post (#17). It also goes a long way to explain the Duke lacrosse case.
I want neighbors like you.
Good work in all cases.
I’ve also taught my kids to defend themselves, not with karate but just that they don’t have to take it from anyone. They can do what they need to to get out of the situation or put a stop to it, and they can defend anybody who is getting picked on, but other than that, no fighting.
My youngest daughter, who is no wimp, has taken out a couple boys out for not backing off with their picking on her, not making a pass at her, but just not leaving her alone. The sister of the one boy found her and congratulated her.
My son is built like a brick wall and just standing his ground is enough to stop some kids (they bounce off him). When that didn’t work, he simply picked them up and dumped them in a snowbank and walked away. That was the end of that.
Unless of course they approve of the behavoir of the bully.
