I realize the ban was lifted one day after Congressman King raised the issue on the House floor but still.
That means you cant bring in a Bible and read from it when you visit your son or your daughter, perhaps or your wife or husband. It means a priest that might be coming in to visit someone on their death bed couldnt bring in the Eucharist, couldnt offer Last Rites. This is the most outrageous affront.
The idea that these soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines that have fought to defend our Constitution, and that includes our First Amendment rights to religious liberty would be denied that religious liberty when they are lying in a hospital bed recovering from wounds incurred while defending that liberty is the most bitter and offensive type of an irony that I can think of.

Rep. King is MY congressman and a very good personal friend. I've been proud of him from the day he walked into the US House of Representatives but never more proud of him than when I saw him speak this from the floor of the US House.
God bless Rep. King--perhaps one of the greatest congressmen, EVER, to grace the US House.

They can’t stop God from coming into the hospital..Just pray and ask him to be with you and protect you..
The fools that make these rules will never know since they can’t see or hear God like we Christians can..
It will not get any better we are living in the last days I really believe..

The Air force is much more open to the religious, provided the religion is paganism.

What were they going to do, open mail and destroy any greeting card with a Bible verse? This was shades of Fahrenheit 451.

our initial intention which was to respect religious and cultural practices of our patients.
We respect them by outlawing them. The lack of critical thinking skill in the class of people running things is as disturbing as the spiritual decay in evidence here.

The military maintains it is a misunderstanding and they rescinded the policy in order to clarify it ... where’s the original memo? I want to judge for myself if this is really a misunderstanding. Chances are it is NOT.

For years, the military has been used as a new-age PC test lab. I saw an article in the Keesler AFB rag that showed troops collecting shoes for the needy and one of the "benefits" was a way to fight global warming> Between the repeal of DADT, homosexuality tolerance, religious "tolerance" and other training indoctrination training DoD folks have to go through, defending the US of A is a secondary thing these days.

I think part of the problem is we've become such wimps. Some petty bureaucrat says we can't bring a Bible into a hospital or can't say a prayer mentioning God over a military grave and we cower. What would happen if everyone ignored these "rules" that no one has the power to enforce anyway? Bureaucrats count on people acting like frightened sheep--so what would happen if we we didn't? Just bring your Bible into the hospital, for crying out loud.
