Newt Gingrich leads Mitt Romney by more than 20 points in the important early-voting state of Florida, according to a new Insider Advantage poll.
Gingrich has 41 percent support while Romney has 17 percent. Businessman Herman Cain, who is fading in the wake of allegations of sexual harassment and infidelity, sits in third place with 13 percent. Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry has 7 percent, Texas Rep. Ron Paul has 4 percent, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann has 3 percent, and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum rounds out the field with 1 percent....

Ditto. It is one thing to be for or against a particular candidate in the primaries, but when push comes to shove next November, Obama MUST go if our Republic is to survive. Because of that, we need to guard against eating our own during the primaries. Remember Reagan's "11th Commandment" - "Thou shall not speak ill of thy fellow Republicans." We need a unified opposition to Obama if he is to be defeated - a split party, or (worse) a 3rd Party bid by one of the losers, will guarantee 4 more years of Obama and a disaster from which we may never recover.
I will even vote for Romney if he's the nominee - because the General Election IS about stopping the greater of 2 evils (and it isn't even close between those 2). Yeah, I'll have to hold my nose to do it (especially on the issue of gun rights), and will likely get blitzed afterwards no matter who won such an election, but I at least know that Romney loves his country and will stand up to our enemies abroad (rather than literally bowing down to them), open up oil exploration, try to keep taxes low, put some limits on the EPA and the NLRB, etc. Obama is the opposite, he IS the enemy. Romney is more akin to a very weak and lukewarm ally - not ideal, but better than the alternative.
That all said, we need someone who can cogently articulate reasons why Obama is such a disaster and answer criticisms well. I wouldn't mind seeing Cain in there, but I think his star is fading. Newt is the next best thing, IMHO.
Please try to remember that we're not electing a saint or the Messiah, but a politician. Also remember that the perfect is the enemy of the good.
Yes he does...I had heard Newt say this before when Obama was bowing his head to toes on his "Trash America Tour"...Newt was furious as were most Americans who love our country. He's all in for our country and few have the understanding of it's greatness....and it's slide...as Newt does...and as you stated can communicate this to the people.
For this Newt will not agree to let America go under any international law governing our nation.. as too many politicians are referencing we should "look like" and agree to.
Though I agree with most of your post this particular statement I can't agree with. Romney will do all which his handlers tell him to do...and they do bow before other nations as they use their corporate investments to play the political and economic power games they are involved in. They are NOT devoted to this country but have their own political agenda and the power it welds on an international scale. Romney is simply their front-man....he hasn't had and will not have any decision making power apart from his handlers.
Good post otherwise Ancestthnter...and understood.
Rass has a new national poll out. Newt up by two over Obama. TIME TO GET THIS PARTY STARTED.
34 days til Iowa. Time is quickly running out.
Bingo. Politics is a dirty and sordid field, but it matters. Since no one - NO ONE - gets everything they want, you have to learn that the rules of the game are that you win if you get 70% or more of what you want, and work on the rest later.
Definitely time to unify behind the most conservative candidate who has a shot at winning both the nomination and the election - Newt. That said, he'd do well (after winning some primaries and looking to be the likely nominee) to name several of the others in the field as likely Cabinet officers. As an example, Perry as Energy Secretary, Cain as Secretary of Commerce, etc. Maybe even Romney as Veep to unify the Party - all with the goal of defeating the Republic-destroying Obama and his minions.
Different source.
Well, we’ll have to disagree - but Romney is my least favorite among all of the Pubbies except Ron Paul (Puhleeeeze, can this be his last campaign?). I would MUCH rather have Newt, Cain, Perry, Santorum or Bachmann be the nominee (though I don’t think that the last 2 have a snowball’s chance in Hell of winning, and Perry has a serious case of GWB disease - he can’t talk his way out of a wet paper bag).
Romney is a shallow, ambitious politician. Nothing more.
We don’t have a great lot to choose from. Why did people like Sarah Palin, Paul Ryan, Jim DeMint, Mitch Daniels, or even Chris Christie (semi-RINO) NOT even get into the race?
LOL... well, it seems that he has flipped in the past. LOL
What it does show, without question, is that ANY candidate is preferable to Romney, and that people will enthusiastically support the non-Romney. At some point-—and I don’t know if it’s Newt-—conservatives are going to have to decide if stopping Romney is more important than finding the perfect conservative candidate.

It must be a terrible existence to have nothing to do but sit around and count how many times a day a Thread is posted on this website. Get a friggin’ life. So, it was posted already; big deal. I have not seen it until now. But, of course, I have not been on here since 5:00 a.m. counting Posts. Pitiful!!!
Maybe they know Newt can outsmart O even better than they can?
They'll keep looking - they couldn't find Chicago on a map a few years ago, but they'll damn sure be able to find anything and anyone who can hurt Newt. Just like they did with Sarah... they're silence means they've got nothing. Just old stuff.
Also, Newt's NOT Romney - which is VERY important to many of us...
This is super great. There are thousands of retired folks in Florida so they lived through the time that Newt balanced the US budget four times and gave us a majority in the house. Those were good times for the US and those elderly know it. Also, the elderly are more likely to vote than younger folks.
It is a courtesy to alert others to the thread where the same story is already being discussed (especially when the other thread was posted shortly beforehand).
I also posted a btt to this thread. But oh well, your ass is raw about something, so you bitched at me. Thats ok. I forgive you for temporarily acting like a libtard.
