Cain accuser says he's not fit to be president
The Hill ^ | November 30, 2011 | Jonathan Easley

Posted on 11/30/2011 5:37:30 AM PST by maggief

In what could be a devastating blow to Herman Cain’s Republican presidential bid, Atlanta businesswoman Ginger White gave an interview to Good Morning America on Wednesday in which she divulged new details of her alleged 13-year-long affair with the candidate and panned Cain's suitability to be president.

“I can’t make this up,” White said. “And frankly speaking, I wouldn’t want to make this up.”

White said that Cain took her to a Mike Tyson-Evander Holyfield boxing match in the late 1990s, and said that the former president of the National Restaurant Association had given her money for “the last two and a half years consistently,” but that the money was “not sex for cash.”

White had previously alleged that Cain would fly her across the country and lavish her with gifts and expensive dinners. Cain denied the story, although White provided Fox 5 Atlanta, which broke her story, with phone and text-messaging records that detail dozens of correspondences — some very late at night — between White and Cain.

Cain claims White is looking to take advantage of their friendship for personal gain.

“I’m not sure what’s going on in his head right now,” White responded on Wednesday. “But it’s unfortunate that any of this is going on.”

White was asked if she thought Cain was fit to be president. “In my opinion, no I do not,” she said.

“I honestly do not think that he is, in my opinion, would make a good president, as far as I’m concerned. My views are different from his views, but at the end of the day this is not political – this is absolutely not political and I’ve never tried to make it out to be that,” said White.

Doesn’t matter. He’s done and we Conservatives need to move on. We’ve got work to do before the election and that involves finding viable candidates to support who embrace our values. The presidency is only part of it. There will be many local and state races that will need our help.

I wonder why you're still on this thread? Shouldn't "we" move on?

I would rather trust than be suspicious of everyone.

Ah. Polarization. If you don't trust everyone it means you must be suspicious of everyone.

Not biting.

Typical Cainiac, rude, can’t read, learned forum etiquette in a litterbox. I do not engage this type.

I like the comment under the article that says something like

Remember, people. Ok for bill Clinton. Unacceptable for Herman Cain.

It’s either wrong for both or ok for both.

Ah yes, the typical leftist hook to join the circular firing squad. The democrats and their voters have no moral standard other than to try and bludgeon conservatives with moral standards so the left can expand their corruption of the nation in the name of progressive standards. ... And bearing false witness is definitely one of the things the left invites conservatives to participate in ...

“Like it or not, this recent Cain accuser is getting more than twice the press than the other 4 have.

She is giving a compelling case history in all the interviews she is being asked to do. Considering the trend, as well as the other women involved, Cain needs to do the right thing and drop out. The more he tries to deny this, the worse it will get for him.”

It really doesn’t matter at all about the character of this latest woman to come forward. If Cain did all of the things of which he is accused, then it’s HIS character that should be called into question given his bid for elective office.
Continually slamming and calling women in his life sordid names doesn’t alter the possibility his judgment is suspect at best.

You are right altura. Never saw so many conservatives using the race card to push a candidate.

We would be wealthy if we had a $1 for every minister whose feet turned to clay.

Probably for the best. At my age, it is unlikely I'll be convinced to abandon being myself and pursue being you.

Why did you just call names to this poster and not address his/her valid questions to you?

Is that your version of "forum etiquette"?

Looks like you may be the one tossing the litter.

“Free” Republic?

Okay, apparently this is a Herman Cain Lovefest thread and you’re the one to decide who gets to post. GOT IT!

Time for you to get your head out of the sand and accept reality, trisham.
It’s OVER for Herman Cain as a candidate for POTUS! And it was OVER for him BEFORE the latest attack from Ginger White.

Ruminating about it, denying it and lashing out at those who say it is not productive.

My dear fellow freeper. I’m not trying to insult you or anybody else. I’m trying to wake you up.

The man will break your heart and he’s still asking for money.

Don’t let him break your wallet as well.

I wondered a while back if Mr. Cain would get his wife’s vote since she’s a lifelong democrat.

I think he can write her off now.

Not just to you, trisham, but to all the Cain supporters here.

You people are scaring me. Have you lost your minds?

You are busy attempting to defend the indefensible.

Cain has a woman problem.

Your attempts to explain, excuse, and deny all the information has entered the realm of weird.

What has he done to inspire this kind of blind loyalty? If it could be bottled and given to a more worthy man, it would be priceless.

For your sake and the sake of the others, I hope you will be able ... maybe after a few weeks or months ... to get on with your lives.

In the meantime, I guess there’s nothing anyone can say or do, so I will go on my way. (and good riddance — I’ll say it for you)

Having an open discussion and offering an opinion on current events is very different than beginning a rumor yourself or gossiping. Anyway, how sad that you’d put a gossiper by the water cooler at work ruining the boss’ reputation on the same level as a pedophile. One is stupid and childish (as well as for the people standing around to listen), the other is pure evil.

Herman Cain chose to associate with this woman (that is a fact), so it is his own fault for surrounding himself with ‘troubled’ people like this. You’d expect someone like her to protect your reputation???

As for me, I’m 40-something and quite able to make my own decisions, thank you. If YOU want to wait until supportable facts are disclosed, more power to you. For myself, I’ve started looking elsewhere. I’d prefer to vote for someone who surrounds himself/herself with a better class of people.
