Except Cain’s sales tax is federal so there is only one taxing venue, not 8000 state, county and city venues each with their own rate and list of taxable items.
Further, Cain’s federal sales tax replaces half the income tax that only half of Americans pay with a sales tax that 100% of Americans pay.
Frankly, I only want one type of tax to pay, not two. I prefer an income tax and live in a non sales tax state for that very reason.
But I can see the point of a consumption tax, i.e. a sales tax that everyone, even the grifters have to pay.
I just don’t want to do the record keeping for both and I sure as heck don’t want to be doing it for the 49 states I don’t live in, just because I sell stuff on the internet.
Fair enough response with some meat to your argument.
