War: Gingrich and Romney now accusing each other of supporting amnesty

Technically Gingrich didn’t accuse him of anything, he just strongly insinuated it. It’s Romney who’s going for the jugular:

“My view is that people who come here illegally should not have a special break or a special pathway to become permanent residents or citizens of this country,” Romney said, speaking at a campaign stop at Nationwide Insurance in downtown Des Moines. “They should be in line or at the back of the line with other people who want to come here illegally.”…

Further pressed on whether he thinks Gingrich’s remarks qualify as amnesty, Romney said ”it certainly was.”

“But he didn’t go on to describe the people who have been here 20 years. How about 12 years, 10, five, three. How many children do you have to have to apply this principle,” Romney continued. “He didn’t describe that. The real issue is are we going to spend our time talking about how extensively we have amnesty.”

As frequently happens in GOP squabbles over immigration, they’re defining “amnesty” in different ways. Romney’s defining it as any special treatment for illegals: Because Gingrich wants local community boards to consider the cases of illegals who have been here for 25 years rather than sending them to the back of the line of citizenship applicants, he’s for amnesty...

I think Romney would like to have them work for him and then deport them when their wages are due.

He is for an open border and for no penalties against employers of illegals... but he may be okay with deporting nthem when they want him to pay them.

The Bamster can save himself about $1 billion by just sitting back and letting Republicans attack each other. There is no longer any need for him to campaign at this point.

I hope everyone is happy now.

This is all sorta academic. The only way the president can give amnesty to the illegal alien invaders is to introduce legislation in favor of it and hope it passes. He can give illegal alien invaders a form of temporary amnesty by not enforcing immigration laws but he cannot give them true amnesty without getting congress to change those laws.
Regardless, when a lawbreaker is intentionallty not brought to justice it is amnesty—which is the forgetting or overlooking of any past offense.

Who cares about any of these RINO elitist well rehearsed idiots.

Herman Cain is the man, has been since day one.

When all the POTUS candidates are non-bald morons with no facial hair because they are listening to a bunch of low IQ idiots who just graduated from Harvard (the school that is responsible for every-single-problem this country faces today) Please: Always vote for the bald guy with a mustache who surrounds himself with graduates from the local community College, or better yet, non-graduates just to make sure they truly aren’t radicalized.

What are the biggest threats to the USA today?

1. Muslims

2. Liberals/elitist RINOs (same thing)

Guess what Herman Cain is against like John Travolta and heterosexuality?

Why is an expertise of foreign affairs needed when you have these two qualities? Someone please explain that to me.

Last time I checked Russian, North Korea, China, Cuba aren’t attacking us.

Thats a hoot. Back of the line just means let them all stay but they don’t get citizenship. Memo to Mitt: They don’t want citizenship.

From Rush Limbaugh:

But we have found here, ladies and gentlemen, via YouTube -- this might surprise some of you -- Mitt Romney back in 2007, he was on Meet the Press, 2007. "My own view is consistent with what you saw in the Lowell Sun" -- the newspaper -- "that those people who have come here illegally and are in the country, the 12 million or so that are here illegally should be able to sign up for permanent residency or citizenship." So Romney said the same thing in 2007 but he did it on Meet the Press. He didn't do it in the form of a debate, didn't do it in the form of policy, we have the bite, it's audio sound bite 27. So Romney -- (interruption) I know he jumped all over Newt for it last night but that's because Romney probably forgot he said this in 2007. Romney no doubt forgot he said this in 2007. He said it on Meet the Press. He didn't say it in a debate. He was just answering a question, and he was posing it as an idea, as opposed to presenting it as policy. Here's Romney from Meet the Press in 2007.

ROMNEY: My own view is, consistent with what you saw in the Lowell Sun, that those people who have come here illegally and are in this country, the 12 million are so that are here illegally, should be able to sign up for permanent residency or citizenship.

RUSH: So 12 million was the number back then. He said something no different than what Newt said last night. In fact he went further, because Newt did not say citizenship. Newt purposely didn't mention citizenship for these people, and the reason for that is they can't vote if they're not citizens. So Newt obviously has thought about this to a certain extent 'cause he knows that if you grant amnesty, amnesty is citizenship, and Newt insists this is not amnesty because I'm not talking about making them citizens. And if they're not citizens, they can't vote. What Newt says, "I'm prepared to take the heat for saying let's be humane in enforcing the law without giving them citizenship. But by finding a way to create legality so that they are not separated from their families." So Newt can say today, as he is saying, "My program's not amnesty. 'Cause I'm not talking citizenship." Therefore, these people are not gonna become automatic Democrat voters.

Republican candidates are killing each other whiole Obama floats along with no opposition, and laughing his ass off.

Stop the slaughter. You are playing into Obama’s hands.

Any Republican is better than what we have.

Romney is a dumb a@@. Who gives a crap at this time. It was a basic idea that was presented by Newt, and if an jackass Romney did understand the concept he is a fool. What did this fool want in one minute of time.

Romney is for it then!

Too late he's on to another directive.

You missed his support for it by blinking...

Newt did not offer amnesty.

He did NOT offer amnesty! You are correct, however why are you so anti-pundit?

Pundits are taking it as truth that he did and running with it the wrong way.

Read:

Amnesty-a forgetting or overlooking of any past offense.

Treating illegal alien invaders other than what the law requires is amnesty even if people like Newt say it ain't.

Michelle Bachman pegged him good on that fact.

Romney looked a lot better than Newt on this one IMHO. Looking back at Newt’s record he is a big gubmit conservative who has always had a soft spot for illegal aliens.
