LOL!
Haven’t you heard of Festivus with its feats of strength (and wrestling match) and the airing of grievances? Painful indeed!
Years ago my friend(a newbie pilot)and I shared a shuttle bus with a group of American Airlines pilots. Striking up a conversation , the pilots exploded in laughter when I asked if any were also chopper pilots.
One replied with a smirk “ Gary Powers was shot down in a plane at 70,000 ft and walked away. He later died piloting a news helicopter. Son, planes can glide but choppers go down like a cow flop(paraphrasing).”
For 20 years that has kept me out of a helicopter and I am forever grateful. I was in Maui last month and my girlfriend begged me to go on a helicopter tour but I flatly refused. One week later that chopper went down killing all the tourists and pilot aboard.
My Brother was an Aircraft Mechanic and Private Pilot.
He had the same viewpoint on Helicopters.
When I tried to get him to go on a Helicopter ride, he simply said, “No wings, no way”.
LOL!!! Brilliant!
This is creepy. On Leverage last night (TNT), the assumed names two of them used were Peel and Steed. I was the only one in the room old enough to recognize it though.
looks like his seat busted loose from the side loads......
I’d say the two guys next to him on the deck were darn lucky too.
Kind of reinforces my belief that we all have an expiration date. If its not your time, you won’t be killed... Also explains why some people walk away from horrible accidents ( in planes) and someone dies at a relative small car accident..
It's the beest time of the year!
guy’s lucky to survive that ride
Sky News with some sky news. For a few seconds, anyway.
So much for safety surveys....
I talked my pop into letting me take the L.A. Airways...Sikorsky S-61 from DisneyLand Hotel..to LAX. I remember having a bad headache after arriving at LAX. Must have been '66 or '67..I was just a young kid.
After two crashes in '68...they discontinued service.
