I’ll take any damn one of them over Obama and I’m sick of the hatred for each one it’s gotten ridiculous.

Agree 100%. Just how choosy can we afford to be given the current crop we have to work with and the desperate situation we are in as far as keeping obama from getting another term to put the final nail in America's coffin. This election is different from previous elections. We are not ousting just another democrat, we are trying to oust a communist thinking idealogue with a radical agenda.

let's keep discussion on the debate threads to those candidates who are, you know, actually running.

What - are you going to fine me, or give me a time out for daring to speak my mind?

This a conversation that is vital to the future of our country. The fact is, the best person for the job of president is currently on the sidelines. I'm not going to bury my head in the sand and pretend like this tragedy isn't happening, and I will bring it up whenever it needs to be said.

Gingrich said after the debate that millions will leave as a result of cracking down on employers. He is talking about the parents or grandparents of long time American citizens, and he is talking about legalizing them not full citizenship.

Too many simply are not listening to what Newt is saying...... it's easier just to slam any idea of addressing the problem which to date few have brought to the forefront.

Reagan.." I believe in the idea of Amnesty for those who have put down roots and have lived here even though sometime back they mah have entered illegally."

Right and we both know just how much has been done to stop the flow. Hey,we don’t want to anger the Mexican government after all or maybe even have the UN scold us on human rights.

Newt ably demonstrates why he has been a has-been and should be put back into the storage shed. The guy is a political drunk driver, combining both brilliance and stupidity, often in one speech.

Basically the guy is a very smart, total flake who will make conservatives cringe and liberals laugh.

It’s a moot point regardless. There will be NO mass deportations and nobody is going to declare “Listen, your dad is an illegal, therefore all you American high school kids and wife have to pack up and go back to Mexico. I don’t care if you don’t speak Spanish, shut up and get in the truck. And quit texting.”

Conservatives who base their vote on deportation are living in fantasyland.

Not to be mean, but your post looked as if you had typed it on a cell phone or in a big hurry and you usually write quite nicely.

Reagan also said this would be the last amnesty. What good is law, if it’s to be overlooked for convenience sake by pandering politicians? I think Newt just thinks he’s much smarter than the majority of hard working American citizens who say NO to amnesty.

And again, I dont care if it’s Newt. The fact is not a damn one of these candidates, not one, will govern as a 100% conservative as they may be saying now to get the republican nomination. That is just reality. Reagan granted amnesty and created the damn education department I believe.

You’re whistling past the graveyard.

Appeasement always fails.

Simply adopt the immigration policies of Mexico, and that is the end of that.

This is like stepping on grown roaches but not stepping on baby roaches.

No matter what, the vermin continue breeding and destroying our country and customs.

I agree. We do not have the means to physically deport 12 million aliens. But we do have the means to legislate so they will self deport.Arizona which runs over half the nation’s e verify checks has found the system successful in having many self deport. A national e verification policy will go a long way in having many self deport. The question is would Newt be making an e verify exception for illegals here over 25 years.

For me there are far more pressing and dire problems facing our nation then just voting for a conservative....I will vote the one who can stop the trajectory our nation is in and frankly I don't care if they're 100% conservative either....more importantly is can they boot Obama and steer this ship out of this storm. That is the bottom line.

Perry hasn't proposed jack?

What do you call an elite team of state police armed with the best helicopters, night vision, snipers, canine units, and boots on the ground to secure the border because the federal government won't?

Besides, don't "proposals, i.e. bills/legislation" typically come from legislators? Why not attack them and leave Perry out of this. He acted unilaterally without the legislature because its a law enforcement function and he exercised the authority of his office to get it done.

You should be ashamed of yourself. Sounds like you're too proud?

Gingrich has a suicide impulse. This is the second time in the campaign he has intentionally trashed mainstream conservatives to “broaden” his base. The first was back in May, when he called Paul Ryan’s budget plan a form of “right wing social engineering”. He plummeted in the polls. Now, less than two weeks after he started to climb because of the Perry and Cain problems, he’s decided to toss himself off the building a second time. Romney’s going to get the nomination by default given the never ending snafus of the other main contenders.

I think the FR threads have been into overdrive on this today and I have been out chopping wood for 12 hours, so I have missed a lot. But what I would say is this:

For someone to illegally stay in a country for 20, 25, 30 years, rarely entails that they only break one law (coming in bypassing Federal Immigration Laws) and then remaining clean and model citizens for the rest of that time is necessarily an unsustainable proposition. There is a whole underground network of fellow travelers one must stay in contact with and deal with, under the INS (and now INS/DHS) radar. Issuers of phony drivers licenses (until recently), phony SSN's, phony birth certificates, not reporting wages, phony Western Union transfers, assistance to other relatives to come illegally thus participating in an elaborate underground railway that skirts the border sovereignty of the United States, misstatements by the person with more LIES to cover up the lie of their living in the USA, such as true location of birth, citizenship, and the like. It makes no difference if they have illegally been in the country since 2009 or 1989 or 1969, the whole thing in these families is built upon the presumption of a LIE and they necessarily had to lie and cheat many times along the way to stay here under the radar, and the same time, many millions of would be legal residents and permanent aliens had to line up at US Embassies abroad and go through a battery of tests, interviews, document checks, background checks, loyalty checks, proof of livelihood and not being a social burden in the USA, fingerprints, checks for diseases, checks for sanity and criminal records, sworn affadavits, filing fees (massive) and the like. (Incidentially, few if any of these "20 and 30 year neighbors we all know, who work with us, go to school and work with us, are community members, etc, had to do ANY OF THESE CUMBERSOME THINGS BECAUSE THEY WOULD BE DISCOVERED AS ILLEGAL AND PERHAPS DEPORTED. Gingrich suggests we reward illegal behavior and it is unsustainable.

And the second thing. If I were trying to dislodge Newt Gingrich as a conservative in this race in these next few weeks, I would get the PRECISE NUMBER OF AMERICAN CITIZENS KILED ON US SOIL OVER THE LAST 25 YEARS BY ILLEGAL ALIENS WHO HAD BEEN IN THE USA FOR MORE THAN 10 YEARS. Thirdly, I would have a joint press conference with the leader of any family rights' group of victims of illegal aliens who oppose any form of amnesty for those who have no business on US soil. Gingrich let himself wide open for an AMAZING broadside by Conservatives on this issue, with his latest articulation of that most nefarious and nasty brand of "conservatism", so called "compassionate conservatism" which is responsible for lax immigration laws which have not only resulted in the deaths of literally THOUSANDS of our Fellow Americans, but also allowd a system whereby the 19 9-11 hijackers could move freely around, get drivers licenses, have free reign of walking unfetterred in our national territory. Newt really soiled himself on this one and I hope my guy for example, Herman Cain, really ramps up on this issue ASAP.

It's just politeness.

There have been and still are several threads where the possibility of Palin getting into the race is being discussed and supported.

I have no intention of interrupting those threads with a contrary opinion, and I'm only asking that you reciprocate.
