In Michigan they actually had a vote, they just didn’t try real hard to make sure the victims knew about it. Most people simply threw the notice in the trash because they didn’t belong to a union and assumed it was junk mail.
The union conducted the vote, counted the votes, declared themselves to be the winners, and destroyed the ballots without anyone seeing them.
The lesson here is to read it if you get any mail from the union even if you don’t belong. Also, RAISE THE ALARM!!!!

I didn't know they even had that formality. I had thought that the day care workers had been lumped into a previously unionized job category by some pro-union state official and "Presto!" instant union members.
