What’s wrong with that statement? Didn’t we bar nazis from serving in our Armed Forces during WWII?

We all know what islamic teachings say about us infidels. Why should we allow prople in the military who don’t publicly deny and denounce those teachings and exhortations?

Cain has already said that if he’s elected he will not appoint a Muslim to his administration or the judiciary. Maybe we can extract a promise to ban them from the military as well?

I think that the relatives of the Ft. Hood shooting might have something to say about that too.

I’m upset about the inaction of 99.99% of Muslims and their failure to forcefully condemn the terrorist acts of Muslims!

According to the constitution, the US congress holds sole authority over the composition of the armed forces. However, unlike any other situation, congress can impose on future congresses parameters to this composition, which unless specifically overturned by congress, acts to hinder its authority.
This means that yes, congress could ban Muslims from service in the US military, but they would also have to provide an exemption to themselves to do so, as they have previous put a limitation on their own authority to ban individuals from the military on account of religion.

Don't miss “American Muslims” on TLC. It is being publicized and looks like propaganda.
