Israel is speeding up on-board missile defense systems for commercial planes in light of fears that Gaza terrorists have obtained anti-aircraft missiles during the recent war in Libya, defense officials told the Associated Press.
It is only a matter of months before the laser-based ”C-Music” system will be installed on approximately 100 Israeli passenger planes, officials added.

If and when, God forbid, these weapons are used against civilian targets, the media will do anything not to connect those dots.

If that happens...time to clean out the Gaza strip and send them all to Syria...or just put em in Europe.
When they next do it to an American airliner over American territory, maybe then they’ll take their blinders off.

If these are Russian missiles then they are probably chipped as a safety precaution just in case they are ever used against Russian planes... I doubt the Russkies would ever give the info to Israel though :-(
Chipping is a way to add a safety kill switch to military hardware....just in case it has to be disabled or its performance degraded. Generally the hardware is chipped to be location aware or can be controlled by rf signals. The US probably does this with a lot of hardware...and we have the large NRO satellites with their massive antennas to send control signals to the gear.
Invade, occupy, take out (as in shoot like dogs) all Hamas and other terrorists, bring back the Gush Katif-niks and protect them. But collective punishment is simply un-smurfy.

Over 33 years, companies I worked for built a lot of FMS (foreign military sales) hardware. It was, for the most part, identical to what we built for our military. No chips. No hidden codes. Nothing to make our stuff better, or their stuff not work if we wanted it not to work. We only sell to people approved by the government; allies. You don’t do that sort of thing to allies.
Also, they’re not, for the most part, idiots. They’d figure it out and it would be a huge, huge diplomatic problem. The word would get out and NOBODY would by US hardware.
There’s nothing mysterious about the hardware. For the most part they get a full technical data package. They can go in and look at anything they want to. Believe me, you can’t get away with kill-switches.
al Q has already been reigning the ‘missing’ missiles down on Israel and taking credit for it.

And many of those missiles will be funneled up through Pakistan and over the border into north eastern Afghanistan province of Kunar, where our troops fought and died for years - undermanned, under-armed - to keep the Taliban from having a free path down to Kabul and the heart of Afghanistan...the very mountain valleys that obama just turned over to the Taliban, in the spring of 2010 - without a fight AND left caches of weapons for them - that they bragged they would use to kill our troops = and they did.
And “the Won” sees himself as one step closer to being enthroned as the returned 12th Imam, the Great Mahdi?
Yep. Practically everyone except the media and the Moron in chief will know where they came from.
On the good side the missiles are complicated electronic devices that don’t keep well and the majority of them will not function at all and the rest may not function properly. The terrorists will be shopping for battery packs and other hard to find parts. That is what I would be monitoring the Internet and other media for.
Pardon my ignorance of Moose Limb history, but when was the Caliphate ever in Tripoli? The Mamluks were based in Cairo. The Ottomans were based in Istambul.

You cannot exist on the defensive, there comes a time when you must attack.

This is probably the main reason why the NSA runs its own fab operation.
The devices so engineered would not appear to be able to receive any sort of a signal or react to such a signal. But
remember that the NRO sats have 350ft dish antennas and can
generate a very brief data pulse of staggering power. It would not take much to detect such a data pulse. As for the receive ability of those sats they can get a whopping signal from something far less powerful than the part 15 emissions from commercial electronics. A lot of gear must have unsuspected 2-way data ability.
As for experts being able to discern whether a massively complex piece of hardware has any ‘extra’ functions... it would be a difficult chore to get the silicon wafers out
and pore over every possibility...there just ain’t enough time in the world.
The world is just filled with chipped devices of all sorts. I worry about what might be going on inside Chinese ICs.

Why invade. I woiuld think it better to set up 4 or 5 guns and begin walking a 100 meter wide blast zone from the border to the sea. Then move to the left and do it again and again and again
