Anti-Semitic crimes on the rise in Malmö
www.thelocal.se ^ | 11/11/11 | TT/The Local/js

Scandinavia is widely known for tolerance.

Sweden's Freedom of the Press Act, passed in 1766, is the oldest in the World.

Likewise, people dwelling in Sweden have enjoyed freedom of religion for centuries (however, native Swedish Lutheran citizens were not allowed to convert until 150 years ago).

But what to do when certain religious miniorities don't respect the right of other religious groups to practise their religion?

I am Swedish and don't hesitate to admit my Sweden has failed in this regard.

Malmö is not completely overrun by Muslims like some people outside of Sweden, apparently, believe. But it's time to do something.

Lots of Muslims living here in Europe badly needs to get sent back. For good.

The article:

Jews in Malmö in southern Sweden have been the victims of an increased number of hate-crimes in 2011, according to local police.

During the first six months of the year there has been the same number of anti-Semitic crimes reported as were reported for the whole of 2010.

“The increase in reported crime could be due to the police investing in more resources to solve these kinds of crimes, or that the tendency to report is higher now because there are more incidents of an anti-Semitic nature”, Susanne Gosenius, a hate-crimes coordinator with the Malmö police told the TT news agency.

She added, however, that there may very well be a large number of crimes that are never reported to the police.

In many respects, Malmö seems to be a bit different from the rest of the country in terms of hate-crimes against Jews, Gosenius explained.

At the same time, however, the number of reported Islamophobic crimes has decreased compared to the first six months of 2010.

Fredrik Sieradzki, spokesperson for the Jewish Community of Malmö, said that the crimes are often attacks on people either arriving or leaving the synagogue.

The police in Malmö have registered a total number of 21 anti-Semitic crimes and 105 crimes against immigrants in the first half of 2011.

The total number last year was 20 and 116, respectively, for the same type of crimes.

In Gothenburg, police don't have specific statistics anti-Semitic crimes.

“They are seen as being part of hate-crimes”, said police analyst Thomas Pettersson to TT.

However, the Jewish congregation in Gothenburg does not view the issue with the same urgency as the Malmö congregation.

“It’s not that we are entirely without problems of course," said Daniel Jonas, head of the congregation in Gothenburg, to TT.

He explained that it's not uncommon for someone to shout out "damn Jews" or other derogatory slogans, most often outside of a synagogue.

Some figures on unemployment in Malmö featured in this clip are highly erroneous, but it still is worth watching.

Multiculturalism does not work. It never has.

Seems to some extent to have a direct correlation to the decline of morality in the west.

Imagine an artist marrying, having many children (grew up poor), a happy home life, the charming paintings of which have made him famous. In Sweden. Once upon a time.

It's not that simple, of course. Nothing ever is.

Have we considered the food chain? A modest proposal: Could Towelheads be seasoned so that they taste like Swedish meatballs?

They’re so anxious to see us join the circle of life; perhaps we could do the same ...

They probably taste like goat since so many of them mate with goats.

“(..) decline of morality in the west”

- I’m not so sure there has been a decline of morality in the West.

One thing I know for sure is that work ethics have been restored here in Sweden during the last 20 years.

I have worked together with a lot of people in the age of 20-25 lately and they clearly display a better work ethics than my generation did that age (I’m 42).

There is hope for both Europe and America. Never forget about this.

No? Seems to me in the US, legalized abortion is new and far more frequent, fornication, illegitimacy, guess it's how you define morality. Won't mention some other things. Always been hypocrisy and a double standard.

That's interesting about work ethics. Don't see it here. You're quite a bit younger than me. My children are your age and their friends (and they pulled a lot of stuff I wouldn't have dared, not that I didn't mess up in a few ways). My son works his tail off with the second business he's started, and both my daughters are on food stamps, one on welfare. But my son likes to spend the fruits of his labor in lavish living now that is alien to me.

My son is sweet if he thinks of me he's so busy. Stopped by with a $100 dinner from some business thing. Strange food but I'll eat most anything if I can chew it and get it down. That made me think some places we went to for a treat are probably $100 a plate or more now. I was specifically thinking of Tarantino's on fisherman's Wharf. Our family of four (and possibly 2 guests) had a table near the windows on the left piers side IIRC, my first experience of swordfish. I looked it up on the internet, and they are still there all these years later, little has changed, but I don't think I'd be comfortable paying what it probably is now.

I'm glad you think there is hope.

Seems like a lot of things are right about your family. You ought to be proud.

But perhaps you should talk to your daughters about the dark sides of welfare a bit more. They can't just sit around waiting for a man to improve their situation. This is the 21st century.

My parents are divorced since over 30 years ago, but still are friends. Tomorrow, Mom is coming up from the southern part of Sweden by train (evening sets in already by 3 pm this season of year so she leaves her car back in Skåne/Scania). I'm taking them to a Japanese restaurant for a late Saturday lunch, then we'll explore a museum called Stadsmuseét here in Gothenburg and after that it's off to the ‘burbs and a hearty meal of Austrian Wiener Schnitzel and Gösser beer (my father loves the cuisine of Central Europe).

That sounds like a wonderful excursion with your mom. And the oriental restaurant should be fun if it isn't sushi. I'm really into Asian food right now.

My children are a very sore subject. I have talked to them about welfare. And morals. And responsibility, tried to raise them right and set a good example. The worst thing I'm guilty of overall is the house is messy but not as bad as what I saw on ABC. I told my one daughter how much she has already cost the taxpeyers. And how much her loser black sperm donor of her unexpected 40's pregnancy has cost the full extent I don't even know. I'm having an awful time dealing with that; she lets him live off her for nothing and practically lost everything. No way is she coming back to live with me because of her abusive and controlling tendencies. He has hepatitis C, and she had a fit when she tested positive for Hep B she probably got from him or somebody like him but is inactive. But the Hep C which is much worse, she doesn't worry about exposing her or her 5-year-old son with him to it (transmitted by blood). I about hit the ceiling when I found out they put their food stamp card together. She's been trying to get ss disability for years. She's too borderline functional, can figure out and climb around and do things I can't. I told her to go get a job; I'm fed up with it. Oh, and I have helped her in the past with lots and lots of money but no way am I giving her any more money for bills if that guy will benefit from it by being able to stay on there because she won't throw him out. She already had her kid taken away once because he beat her black and blue, then sneaks and lets him back in her life. Put the whole family through hell over that and finally gets her son back. I sit in that courtroom with her, and when I hear the judge say to one of the attorneys (paid for by taxpayers of course) "let's get this family back together." What? I about couldn't contain myself right in that courtroom. So I guess I'm stuck with that to my dying day now. So now they're hoping he'll get disability. So how much has he cost the taxpayers? What I know are five children no child support, wouldn't keep a job. Heroin addict. Alcoholic. No car, doesn't or can't drive. Thousands on therapy. So now they're hoping HE'LL get approved for disability. I think they are gaming the system.

I do think they are only approving the hardest cases for disability now because ss is in a mess, but I can't prove it, of course. Just makes sense. Every month, somebody much worse moves to the head of the line. People get it and work minimum hours, and party the rest of their lives. My daughter's alcoholic, fall off the wagon, Christian girlfriend got approved the first time because she's manic depressive and I don't know how. She could have worked if she'd stayed off the booze. She had two abortions and cried all the time, I was not unsympathetic about that. She goes to a rock concert with my daughter and steals a t-shirt. That's what I meant about morals. And goes to church and screws around just like the guys I meet her age do the same.

I can barely speak a civil word to her any more. She lectures me I have to forgive. I said there's such a thing as righteous anger plus nobody has asked for my forgiveness for all the horrors they've put me through.

The other daughter has a loser husband imo, he pays for stuff if he feels like it. He does have a problem getting his pay for drywalling sometimes though. So I never know if she'll have a phone or not. So she's one of these that likes to always have something going on, people hanging around. She had about 5 or don't know how many, and they all get food stamps and pool them. But she can't get welfare but is trying for disability. Last therapist says she can't work. Well, she can garden and cook and have a constant circus going on. She does have physical issues but drinks too much.

So now there is a great grandchild and it appears the new wife who got preggers to my grandson in the Navy (they had a hasty marriage which gave me hope something in our family might work) hasn't allowed her to see her first grandchild. So that makes me feel so sad, especially for her. It's not as if she's going to baby sit, and she was good enough to take on her son's dog when he went into the Navy. Now I worry that the only reason she married my grandson who really cares about her and the baby (she's back home) to get that nice Navy maintenance check every month. If she doesn't go back to be with him, he'll be devastated, very common with service people.

I'm major upset. Can you tell? My son scares the you know what out of me with his predictions of doom and gloom, a prepper. I've thought about it for over 35 years now and decided try to run my life responsibly and see if I get any nudges what to do next. Not about to stock up on gold, guns or a lot of food.

I decided not to post about other difficulties. My neighbor across the street, you would never imagine, got foreclosed, and I had to watch the coming and going, thought maybe he was just changing the furniture. He left, don't know where. Kind of a loner like me but nice guy, younger, didn't like to visit much, is a business consultant, well I didn't even say good bye to him or that I was sorry (because after-the-fact I poked around and pretty much put together how it shook out for him). I don't go out of my way to find out stuff about people beforehand but after the neighbor across the street the other way for something similar (it's all on our city assessor page). It's on there that my house was sold for back taxes back around 2000 and up because I was having severe health problems and financial but I was able to redeem mine. Now the assessor has been back a second time and downgraded my property to poor and way lower value than anybody around. So that's had me scared they could make me move unless I make certain repairs I can't really afford to spend on for that, need it for something else. I have the means but it has to go for something else I've taken over for the first time in my life, managing a farm and deal with people who you aren't sure you can trust their motives.

You have no idea what it's like to see a normal post from a nice person in another country I'll never be able to meet in real life which is ok. My gosh evening by 3pm Further north, you probably don't have quite so much of a Muslim problem. I can honestly say they haven't caused a problem where I am that I'm aware of. I'm really ashamed to post this but I guess I don't have to come back and look at it for awhile. Sometimes a person needs to vent. Freepers were wonderful last year and prayed for me, and I think their prayers helped get me through all that.

That's enough already. I try to lose myself in the news but then just end up angry at the injustice and nastiness of it all.
