I was prepared to contribute shoe leather to your election as recompense for the thin wallet caused by this cØmmunist economy.

Fortunately for our nation, the Founders - many/most with families and fortunes and futures to consider - weren't similarly dissuaded.

I know... but it is so hard to retain a positive mental attitude... but I am trying. Hard to fight the dims and those that run the republican party... what pi$$es me off the most... the leadership think that we are stump dumb... but they are really shallow and transparent.

Here is the truth onyx... the dim party and the American government are so screwed up, so evil and so corrupt today... that good people refuse to put themselves and their family through what Cain is going through now. They have given Sarah far worse and for far longer. I think that she fears for the lives of Todd and her kids... I think she puts America above herself... but not her family. I cannot blame her... politics is satanic and evil in America today... when Good surfaces... satan attacks... evil governs in America today. I pray to GOD that Sarah finds the strength to do what America needs her to do. What we are left with for candidates today is just gut wrenching.

Comparing Palin to Ike one of the stupidest thing I have heard posted here. Ike accepted his role as supreme commander and attacked at the appropriate time.

I know what is happening in the USA, and how corrupt our political leaders in both parties have become. This next election may be the last, if it happens at all.

Comparing the dangers Palin would have faced as a candidate to that of a military vet in a war zone is an offense to all veterans.

The men at Lexington-Concord put themselves in harm’s way for this country. Our founding fathers put their homes, families, and fortunes at risk to birth this nation.

George Washington did not want to be president either, but when the time came, he decided to man up and do what was right for his country.

Perhaps God told Palin not to run in prayer. That would be consistent with God’s written Word, the Bible. It chooses a gender for leadership, and it is Washington’s, not Palin’s.

Hey, dipwad troll Since May 31, 2010 -- I am a veteran, as are many other posters here.

Every American citizen is facing the same danger that military vets have faced in war zones throughout history -- that of getting killed in a violent manner due to serious problems not getting solved by political means. That, or dying from disease, starvation, or other un-lovely conditions that might accompany a modern civil war.

The difference in a hot civil war is that every man, woman, and child in and around the hot zones has roughly equal chances of dying an early death.

Perhaps God does choose people to lead; perhaps they arise from among particular populations out of necessity, at particularly historical times. If you could read, you would probably have found some examples of both men and women who have been such leaders in the past, even in your own "Bible" of which you appear to be pathetically ignorant.

1st Timothy 2:12 says that women should not have authority over men.

1st Corinthians 11:3 gives husbands authority in marriage.

I really don't care what Timothy and Corinthians, or Paul himself, say about women and men, and you obviously can't articulate whatever message it is that misguides your belief. Quoting Bible verses is not a sufficient substitute for logical debate. That you think so is proof of your pathetic ignorance.

People like you want all kinds of authority you have never earned. Believing that the Bible gives you any authority of any kind, over anything or anybody, is the epitome of ignorance and arrogance. What takes place in your retarded home and congregation is of absolutely no consequence to the nation as a whole.

In this USA, we elect people to serve as leaders, and those elected leaders in turn appoint some others to various levels of authority over various functions.

None, not one, legitimate "authority" in this USA is determined by anything in the Bible, or in any other religious book, of which there are many.

Really. I think you misunderstand me. My delivery may have been glib, but both lines are based in truth:

1. Gov. Palin decided not to run for President. I believe Obama will be re-elected due to a chain of events that started with her announcement. Even though I understand why she did what she did, I believe she abandoned America. That is FAR kinder than what has been said on this forum by the PDSers. How quickly people forget the ZOTted "pissant".

2. Which brings me to the death threat comment. Palin has publicly and privately received many death threats, as have her family members. I believe the media/government/Soros/Democrat/Communist axis are responsible for many of them, including the rumored "big one" that made Palin's mind up about running. I am not happy about her lack of courage here. Moreover, if she keeps speaking in public, she will receive more death threats. The powers that be will make sure of it. I know our enemy.

The Bible is not just a “religious book”. It is the divinely inspired word of God.

If you do not belive that, ok. All mainstream Christain churches accept the authority and accuracy of scripture.

The only “retarded” apostate churches are the ones that accept parts of the Bible they like, and reject the ones they do not.

You also have a very limited backwards-assed view of where authority comes from. Our founding fathers wrote:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

They understood where authority really comes from, and that is God. To say His word does not grant any authority is asinine.

Are you going to say now that quoting the Declaration of Independence is not a “sufficient substitute for logical debate”?

I hope you keep responding, because I am enjoying exposing what a moron you are to our fellow freepers.

Quoting the Declaration of Independence is great in a political discussion, because it does pertain to our nation's founding, and nothing in it came from the Bible or any other religious book.

That the founders recognized the "natural rights of man", a creator, and that our creator endowed us with natural rights, does not equate to any endorsement of the Bible or any other religious book.

You are exposing only yourself as the moron. Anyone who brings their personal religious nonsensical babbling into a public political discussion deserves all the ridicule they get.

Aitken's Bible Endorsed by Congress

The war with Britain cut off the supply of Bibles to the United States with the result that on Sept. 11, 1777, Congress instructed its Committee of Commerce to import 20,000 Bibles from "Scotland, Holland or elsewhere." On January 21, 1781, Philadelphia printer Robert Aitken (1734-1802) petitioned Congress to officially sanction a publication of the Old and New Testament which he was preparing at his own expense. Congress "highly approve the pious and laudable undertaking of Mr. Aitken, as subservient to the interest of religion . . . in this country, and . . . they recommend this edition of the bible to the inhabitants of the United States." This resolution was a result of Aitken's successful accomplishment of his project.
