Meet Porter Stansberry, the fraudster behind ominous "NewAmerica3" ads
The Daily Caller ^ | 11/09/2011 | Steven Nelson

Posted on 11/09/2011 9:16:11 AM PST by martosko

Many television viewers encounter strange, disjointed ads promoting NewAmerica3.com. The ads plead with viewers to visit the website, where the narrator promises a Nostradamus-like offering of dire prophecies for the future.

What most viewers don’t know is that the man behind the ad has been found liable in the past for defrauding investors.

Meet Frank Porter Stansberry. In 2003 the Securities and Exchange Commission filed a complaint against him for peddling false information to subscribers of his financial newsletter. The name of his company at the time was Pirate Investor.

Apparently the media will put anything on the air for a price.

There’s lots of frauds like this guy running around. There’s an ad on the local radio for a guy who claims to have predicted every downturn since 1970, and “ANOTHER ONE IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER”. People who prey on fear to market their investment schemes are scum.

He might be trying to scam people on the right, but that doesn't automatically make him right wing.

I consider him more "right off this planet and on one of his own".

Has any one here listended to the video?

I have, and it is pretty enlightening. It is full of factual info, that you can check on your own.

It is like Glenn Beck for finance.

YES IT IS A SALES AD FOR A SUBSCRIPTION TO HIS INVESTMENT NEWSLETTER - but it is still full of factual info - that you can check on your own.

I dont know if the guy is a fraud or not- I just know I did not hear anything I disagreed with. You should also look up Porter Stansbury online- he has some good as well as some bad comments associated with him and his busiiness

Every doomsayer is correct eventually...regardless I never claimed he was incorrect, I asked what made him “right-wing”.

Stansberry is a standup guy. The SEC case against him was a bizarre witchhunt. His well-referenced and authoritative account of the affair can be found here

His predictive record is excellent: this is the guy who predicted that GM would go bankrupt and that the value of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac would go to zero.

He was pilloried for those predictions - he was even called 'unpatriotic'. And guess what. He was perfectly correct.

Finally: his dire prognostications for what will happen when the USD finally loses reserve status are perfectly reasonable. I wouldn't like to bet against him.

Stansberry's video appeared here this past (early) July.

If he predicted that GM would go bankrupt and that the value of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac would go to zero, then he should have shorted those stocks and he would have become a billionaire and would have to sell his newsletter.

Where are the documents of his predictions on GM, Fannie & Freddie ?

***Every doomsayer is correct eventually...***

I remember when STAR tabloid said on the front page...JEAN DIXON SAYS NIXON WILL NOT RESIGN! in BIG letters. It hit the news stands the week Nixon resigned from office.

Ten years later Jean Dixon was claiming she had predicted Nixon WOULD resign.

He may or may not have something worthwhile to tell us in addition to peddling a newsletter...But couldn’t tell...

I tried to listen to his messages, but kept dozing off waiting for someone/anyone to get to the point...

Tedious in the extreme...
