Herman Cain campaign admits Mark Block was wrong to link accuser to Politico reporter

Herman Cain’s presidential campaign is admitting that campaign manager Mark Block had his facts wrong when he said on Fox News that one of the women who has accused Cain of sexual harassment is the mother of a reporter at Politico, the news outlet that first published the allegations ten days ago.

Appearing with host Sean Hannity on Tuesday night, Block said it had been “confirmed” by the campaign that accuser Karen Kraushaar’s son works at Politico.

But soon after Block made that statement, Josh Kraushaar, a former Politico reporter who Block didn’t specifically name but who he was referencing, said Block was wrong and that he’s not related to the accuser.

While they're just throwing accusations out there against Cain he shouldn't correct anything.

I'll bet with the same last name they are related some way and I'll stick with that assertion.

Oh, oh, so true. It's hard enough for Cain to have to continually address the faux bimbo eruptions without his chief campaign person giving him more grief. With his current miscues plus his checkered past including DWI's and run-ins with the IRS, Block is very much a liability to the campaign.

I watched this and was holding my breath and wincing the whole time.

I’m sure Mr. Block is a very nice fella, but I don’t think he should be out front on this.

I see it’s still amateur hour at the Cain campaign. Have they apologized to Perry yet for accusing him of the original leak? Is Perry AND the Democratic machine responsible for these sexual harassment claims, or is it just the Democratic machine now? And with what evidence are they making these charges? Do they actually have anything, or are they just using internet rumors for evidence? Can Cain and Block actually stay on the same page for more than a couple hours a time going forward? Or will they continue contradicting one another over who to blame? Cain’s campaign team has exactly zero chance of defeating Hussein and his billion dollar professional operation.

Cain is not being served well by Block. Lin Wood needs to be the point on any harassment issues, Block needs to stick with the politics or go.

IMO, Block has done more damage to the campaign than the three woman’s sexual accusations

Block MUST go.

There is nothing in the article to support the title.

Like you, The Daily Caller is trying to get Cain to dump the man who was smart enough to bring him to be the leading candidate.

Yes, since most of the voters do not give a rats rear end, and know a witch hunt when they see one, you perry people are funny.

from the article:

This isn’t the first time Block has backtracked from something he has said. After accusing a consultant to rival candidate Rick Perry of being involved with getting the harassment story out in the media, he walked those comments back.

Don’t take an accusatory tone with me. Cain’s my guy....but he doesn’t need a loose cannon as his spokesperson at the moment.

Daily Caller wants him to dump the guy who brought him into first place.

RushIsMyTeddyBear wants him to dump the guy who brought him into first place.

My accusation is accurate.

Nope, but they let us know it couldn’t possibly be the honorable Mitt Romney.
