Not again.

Private gun ownership is not banned in Australia. There are over a million gun owners and at least a few million guns in private hands.

We do have some stupid restrictions to live with, but it’s nowhere near a ban.

As one example, I own a semi-automatic assault rifle, a couple of handguns, and a bunch of .22 rifles myself. All totally legal.

You have guns but can't use them for self defense and a license won't be issued to that effect.

And I don't think they have right to carry in Australia. So its effectively a ban on gun ownership even if that's not de jure.
