RANSON, W.Va. (AP) A reported exploding package and spray of white powder that sent emergency units rushing to a small-town post office turned out to be just the pop of a malfunctioning fluorescent light bulb, authorities said Friday

I wonder if the ‘exploding fluorescent light bulb’ will be a common occurrence? There's one more month to get the 100 watt incandescent light bulb.

I’ve had several of those stupid CFLs catch on fire and fill the house with lung-burning fumes. I hate those things.

Probably will be a common experience.
The glass is so thin and now that they are commonly used in lamps they will be coming in contact with floors much more often as children and clumsy adults will be knocking over lamps with compact florescent bulbs instead of incandescent lamps.
