Um, Dr. A-hole can keep his poison to himself. These vaccines are contaminated with God knows what in addition to containing DNA from aborted fetuses. I think parents DO have the absolute right to refuse that crap.

I never cease to be amazed by willfully ignorant FReepers. Keep your un-vaccinated self and un-vaccinated child away from my family.

Vaccines are safe.

His practice, his business. Unvaccinated patients should look for a different pediatrician. I know I wouldn’t go to a doctor who had a totally different approach to medical care from my own.

Dr. Wayne Yankus refuses to see patients unless they follow the government recommended immunization schedule.

And we all know the Government can be trusted and that it never gets anything wrong!

Some vaccines are safer than others. I’m not interested in forcing young men to have Gardasil, which allegedly protects women from HPV and maybe cervical cancer and has side effects. This MD certainly has an attitude, but we live in America and still have a choice where to spend our money.

I can fully understand the doctor’s position. An unvaccinated child who comes down with one of those diseases that should have been vaccinated against is a danger to other children.

Just yesterday, I read about a little girl who almost died of a normally preventable illness because she doesn’t respond to vaccines. That little girl’s life depends on herd immunity (where others are vaccinated, decreasing her chances of encountering a contagious person)..

I also read about a baby who died of whooping cough that it contracted a week before its scheduled vaccinations. Very young babies are only safe if everyone around them is vaccinated.

I also tried to watch a video of children suffering from whooping cough. I say tried, because it was impossible for me to watch those poor kids who were fighting so hard to breathe, and I had to turn the video off.

There are altogether too many people who never lived through the times before vaccines for childhood diseases.
I remember a polio outbreak in school about a year or two before the Salk vaccine; my parents kept us home for 2 weeks. Two of my classmates wound up with paralysis and confined to wheelchairs.

People today have never seen whooping cough, measles, rubella, and so many other diseases. The are protected, spoiled and full of themselves.

I hope you never have to watch a child die from whooping cough.

Keep up your good fight and convince others to think as you do and one fine day, you'll watch it.

You apparently are not old enough (under 50) to remember the polio clinics with iron lungs or the measels epidemics that killed and maimed thousands or the mumps epidemics or the whoopi cough outbreaks. Made up stories about what is in vaccines do not help. Lack of knowledge that is your dilemma

Chris Barnes, 11, is getting his latest round of vaccinations for measles and tetanus.

“It doesn’t really scare me as much as other people, it’s just a shot,” he said.

Without the vaccine and getting measles, Chris has a 1 in 1000 chance of developing encephalitis. He has overall a 1 in 500 chance of dying. With a vaccination, he has a 1 in 1,000,000 chance of an adverse reaction.

As far as "aborted fetuses" goes, the vaccine does not contain DNA from aborted fetuses. The rubella virus is cultured in human cell lines. Some of these cell lines are cells that were cultured from tissues obtained from abortions in the 1960s. And you have no idea of the reasons for those abortions. They may have been for tubal pregnancies or some other similar medical emergency. At any rate, no new abortions are required to maintain these lines or to make the vaccines.

You may as well swear off the use of electricity because of all the people getting killed in coal mining. You're benefiting from their deaths. You could claim that it is immoral to benefit from the death of an innocent fetus. But it is also immoral to willfully put a child in greater danger of death and damage by diseases by refusing to have him immunized. Pro-choice? But that choice, just like in abortion, primarily puts him in danger, not you. A pretty expensive salve for your conscience.

I don’t have a problem with standard vaccines as it goes.

I do think we do not use much vigilance in demanding to know what else is in the vaccines and how could it or multiple shots of it, adversely affect kids.

We have a very corrupt government who doesn’t really deal in good faith anymore.

Anything they mandate is very suspect.

If we don’t look out for ourselves, nobody else will.

We're being overrun by the illiterate and unscientific again on the matter of vaccination.

Fr. Wayne Yankus?

Are they kidding??

I object to mandatory immunization programs, but support the right of any doctor to treat or not treat a patient based on issues of conscience. There are other doctors who feel differently on the matter and patients should see one of them if so inclined.

If doctors are going to abuse their power like this, parents should just lie to them. We will have to learn the way of the Soviets to get around dictators.

Everyone has the right to refuse them.. I have never had a flu shot and have to BEAT my Doctor off with a stick yearly because he PUSHES It. Why is the govt pushing so many vaccines? As always.. BIG PHARMA.

Sure is a whole lot of pressure to get shots these days.. how did we live before kids were required to get 10 shots a year per visit.

I have to laugh at the sheeple who just BLINDLY think all vaccines are “Safe” because the same govt that lies to them on a daily basis, tells them so.. lol

And yes, I know some vaccines are safe, but what they want to run kids through today is flat out paranoia and insanity.

OH well.. I have always said, the police of the 21st century wont wear badges and carry guns, but wear white coats and carry stethoscopes.

Um, Dr. A-hole can keep his poison to himself.

Vaccines are not poison.

These vaccines are contaminated with God knows what in addition to containing DNA from aborted fetuses.

They do not contain DNA from aborted fetuses. If you're concerned that some old vaccines were developed using cells from aborted fetuses, you should know there are alternative versions that were not. A list of those is easily available from Right to Life and other pro-life organizations.

I think parents DO have the absolute right to refuse that crap

It's not crap. Parents do all manner to stupid things with their kids.

Denial of the science of vaccination, your perpetuation of myths and lies, puts everyone at risk. Most common vaccines depend on a high level of vaccination in the population to prevent outbreaks; it's called "herd immunity."
