Cain is a rank amateur. Period. Neither he or his campaign team can handle a serious presidential campaign without falling all over themselves saying and doing dumb stuff. Were he to be nominated he would get utterly crushed by Hussein.

I know I could do a better job than Hussein!

I bet 99% of the people who post here on FR could do a better job. The question is, do you want a career politician who reacts to situation in the predictable (politically motivated) way, or do you want someone who will give it a little thought and consult his advisers as to the best course of action to follow?

The issue here is, among the GOP candidates, who can do the best job.

Cain 2012

..and then We the People, need to stand behind that man.

Yes, you are correct. My neighbors and most of my coworkers would also do a better job than Hussein. Being right isn't enough in politics - if it were we wouldn't have a 15 trillion dollar debt and a country going down the toilet. Lots of people are right on the issues, but the vast majority can't get elected. Not just anyone has the skill set required to get people to vote for them. We need a candidate that is both right on the issues AND can get elected. Cain seems to have good common sense, though I don't think he articulates policy particularly well - but he is a political novice who doesn't stand the slightest chance in the world of defeating Obama and his billion dollar political machine. Cain is still contradicting his own campaign manager on whether Anderson leaked the story to Politico. After all these days they STILL can't stay on the same page.

The question is, do you want a career politician who reacts to situation in the predictable (politically motivated) way, or do you want someone who will give it a little thought and consult his advisers as to the best course of action to follow?

I want a conservative who can actually win. I am not going to down the road of nominating people who can't win in order to feel really good about myself. This has all the hallmarks of the Christine O'Donnell and Sharon Angle fiasco's. Nominating folks who may be great on the issues but have little to no chance of winning is an exercise in utter pointlessness.

The issue here is, among the GOP candidates, who can do the best job.

If your asking who is actually right on almost every issue, I'd go with Bachmann. The problem is she would make a bad general election candidate. My next pick if I were just going by who is most right on the issues would be Santorum - again, he couldn't beat Hussein. Cain doesn't even articulate conservative positions very well, but he does have a sunny disposition and comes off as a happy warrior - problem is, I also think he'd lose badly to Hussein. So now I am down to perhaps having to support Newt - though he carries so much personal baggage and has such a difficult time staying focused that I don't give him great chances either.

..and then We the People, need to stand behind that man.

I will vote for whoever the GOP nominee is - even if I think they are a terrible choice.

That would be nice! If only Cain had done that instead of blurting out whatever came into his head at the moment, contradicting his own campaign manager, and putting his candidacy at risk by stating something that could easily be proven wrong in the future.
