MANCHESTER - A woman hit her boyfriend in the head with a claw hammer while he was asleep on the couch, police said.

Natasha Hamer, 32, of 452 Pine St., is under arrest, charged with first-degree assault in the attack on Ryan Defabio, 23, of 370 Amherst St. Defabio was treated at the Elliot Hospital for the injury.

MANCHESTER - Police arrested a woman after finding her armed with a knife in the immediate area where tires were slashed on five vehicles.

The incident happened about 9:35 p.m. near High and Pine streets. Someone called police to say a woman was slashing tires on parked cars.

When an officer arrived, he found the woman, identified as Natasha Hamer, 32, of 452 Pine St., armed with a knife. He ordered her to drop it and initially she refused but then she dropped it on the ground.

Police said Hamer became increasingly belligerent and repeatedly shouted obscenities despite warnings to stop.

She was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal mischief after police found five parked vehicles with slashed tires.
