Heh heh heh ... I used to love it when W and his old man referred to Saddam (rhymed with madam) - read somewhere it was like to calling him a goat or something. Maybe he has Romney cornfused with grits - pretty bland and not too ggood by itself.

My old man was a westerner and he used to call that big piece of wood and shingles on the house a roof (rhymed with a dog going woof) and some people would say “what?” He’d just shrug and asked what’s a matter no speaka de English?”

We are deep into the nit picking season here now, that’s a fact.

Native Californio here. I've always pronounced it that way, though I've heard some pronounce it like 'poof'.
