Perry has little chance of winning. Cain has ZERO chance of winning. Romney may be able to win (questionable), but he’s unpopular with conservatives.
Newt has baggage (as does everyone), but he’s the most serious candidate, the most articulate, and the most prepared to wage a large scale political battle with Obama. I don’t view Newt as a bad person. He’s got a huge ego....but anyone who seeks the office of president has one.
