There are “chinks” in the armor via side shots, which snipers use all the time. The plates only cover your vitals in the front and back by two small, heavy ceramic plates. That’s why we train to square off as opposed to making a smaller target. Make them shoot the IBA.
I had to laugh at one of the classes I was taking for civilians where the instructor was telling everyone to square off to the threat. Really? You wearing an IBA? If I’m not, I ain’t squaring off to show a BG my vitals.
