Bachmann: GOP Can't Have Nominee With 'Surprises' November 1 2011

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (AP) — Republican presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann says her party can't have a nominee with "surprises" in his record, a jab at rival Herman Cain as he defends himself against allegations of sexual harassment.

The congresswoman from Minnesota told a meeting of Baptists in Iowa on Tuesday night that the GOP needs to have a candidate the party can trust.

Standing in the pulpit of a Marshalltown church, she told supporters, in her words, "This is the year when we can't have any surprises with our candidate."

It seems like half the time she speaks, I lose a little more respect for her. I expect that kind of stuff out of liberals, not out of somebody like her.

She could do what the other candidates do and have surrogates doing the attacking for her like Mitty and the drunk.

She seems quick to jump to conclusions just like she did when she said “that settles it then” after Snufflelafcus (sp?) showed her the picture of Obama’s fake document.

It would be GREAT to see a Republican candidate actually come to Cain’s defense.

In fact, it would probably help that candidate tremendously, rather than parroting the Mainstream Media.

But I guess Michelle isn’t up to it.

I hope she gets voted out of Congress. Getting sick of the shameless opportunism out of her.

I can’t believe it. I am so disappointed. She was my first choice for a while, but she’s turned out to be nothing but a vicious harpy.

Michelle Bachman had a good start. Now it is time for her have a good finish and gracefully bow out.

I was surprised when Bachmann attacked Perry from the left on Social Security during the debates.

So surprised that I vowed to quit supporting her from that point on.

They shouldn’t drop out, because they keep going up and down. Perry was ahead, and then he quickly went down. Cain is competing well against Romney, and people thought his was finished.

The congresswoman from Minnesota told a meeting of Baptists in Iowa on Tuesday night that the GOP needs to have a candidate the party can trust.

She's telling a group of Baptists that they shouldn't trust an ordained Baptist Minister? This is not Jimmy Carter she's talking about, Baptist Sunday School teacher that he is. This is Herman Cain, a man with morals and conviction.

I teach adult Sunday School in a Baptist Church but I'm no Jimmy Carter, I'm more in the tradition of Herman Cain. As a matter of fact, I've invited brother Cain to take over my class on a Sunday of his choice.

I understand that he's a very busy man and I won't hold my breath awaiting his reply but you may rest assured that on the off chance that he accepts, I'll let everybody here know about it.

Is a migraine a surprize?

Lay off Cain, Bachmann.

He’s on our side.
