Shedding Light on How Moammar Gadhafi Died
Der Spiegel ^ | November 1st 2011 | Christoph Reuter

Posted on 11/01/2011 1:18:24 PM PDT by Cardhu

How did Moammar Gadhafi die? The men who witnessed his last hours and the doctor who issued his death certificate have helped to provide insights into the dictator's final moments.

It was a stupid idea from the start. It was his son Mutassim's plan, the son whose political judgment he had never thought much of. But the surprising thing was that Moammar Gadhafi paid attention to the idea. Let's go to Sirte, Mutassim had proposed, when the family was forced to flee from Tripoli in late August. No one would search for them in Sirte or even suspect that they were there, Mutassim said.

It was a bizarre choice: Sirte, the last bastion of the dictator's loyal followers and relatives, a former fishing town that Gadhafi had expanded over the decades into a small city with an international conference center.

"No one here trusted anyone else," said a man who, at the end of last week, was poking around for the remains of a friend on the western outskirts of Sirte. He told us to call him Mohammed and not to take any pictures. "Gadhafi's people had no plan. The war kept on going, because no one dared to offer a ceasefire."

Based on intercepted radio communications, the rebels knew that there was something important in the last remaining stronghold of Gadhafi loyalists, District 2 in the western part of the city. But what was it?

The fighting had been going on for weeks. It was the morning of Thursday, Oct. 20, and Mohammed Aoued had been standing guard since 5 a.m. on the roof of the large white grain silo on the western outskirts of Sirte. The 22-year-old from Misrata was a member of the Watan, or "Home" Brigade, but everyone called it the Pepsi Brigade,

Rebels Attacking From All Sides

"At about 8:30 a.m., Aoued sounded the alarm when he saw dozens of SUVs approaching from District 2. A short time later, a missile fired from an American drone struck the first vehicle in the convoy."

A long two page article with photos - very interesting.

Video images taken with a cell phone show one of the rebels shoving a stick into the dictator's anus and a dark spot spreading across Gadhafi's khaki trousers

I am sure Obama was on the golf course and had to be called back to personally give a thumbs up or down.

You would think a couple hundred billion dollars would help him get some plastic surgery and a new identity in a nice villa in South America.

Libya & QADDAFI ...FACTS THAT CANNOT BE DENIED

1. There is no electricity bill in Libya; electricity is free for all its citizens.

2. There is no interest on loans. Banks in Libya are state-owned and loans given to all its citizens at 0% interest by law.

3. A home is considered a human right in Libya – Gaddafi vowed that his parents would not get a house until everyone in Libya had a home. Gaddafi’s father has died while he, his wife and his mother are still living in a tent.

(Very different from Obama’s brother still living in a Kenyan slum on LESS than $20 A YEAR! Millionaire Obama is happy to share the wealth and spend YOUR money but not to help out his own brother with a few bucks from his pocket. Still has not figured out how to add the brother to American public housing as he has with his aunt Zieitooni)

4. All newlyweds in Libya receive $60,000 Dinar (US$50,000 ) by the government to buy their first apartment so to help start up the family.

5. Education and medical treatments are free in Libya. Before Gaddafi only 25% of Libyans are literate. Today the figure is 83%.

6. Should Libyans want to take up farming career, they would receive farming land, a farming house, equipments, seeds and livestock to kick- start their farms – all for free.

7. If Libyans cannot find the education or medical facilities they need in Libya, the government funds them to go abroad for it – not only free but they get US $2,300/mth accommodation and car allowance.

8. In Libya, if a Libyan buys a car, the government subsidized 50% of the price.

9. The price of petrol in Libya is $0. 14 per liter under 60 cents a gallon.

10. Libya has no external debt and its reserves amount to $150 billion – now frozen globally.

11. If a Libyan is unable to get employment after graduation the state would pay the average salary of the profession as if he or she is employed until employment is found.

12. A portion of Libyan oil sale is, credited directly to the bank accounts of all Libyan citizens.

13. A mother who gives birth to a child received US $5 ,000

14. 40 loaves of bread in Libya costs $ 0.15

15. 25% of Libyans have a university degree

16. Gaddafi carried out the world’s largest irrigation project, known as the Great Man-Made River project, to make water readily available throughout the desert country.

Was the statement by Ghaddafi that he would defend himself deliberately mistranslated into a threat - just as the Milosevic speech was mistranslated to demonize the Serbs?

Why one should read this speech
by Jared Israel

It is impossible for a society to engage in genocide unless the population is won to hate the target group. This has to be done in a systematic way. That is, political leaders must support hate in deeds but also in words.

We are told that this happened in Serbia. We are told that Slobodan Milosevic and other Serbian leaders indoctrinated the Serbian people to hate non-Serbs, especially ethnic Albanians in Kosovo province. We are told that Milosevic launched this racist campaign in a speech at Kosovo Field in 1989.

This charge made against Milosevic, that he preaches racial or ethnic hate, is significant because it supports the charge made against the Serbian people, that they were won to hatred and therefore practice genocide. Because many Americans and West Europeansbelieve these charges they are disposed to believe there must be some truth to the avalanche of pro-war propaganda demonizing the Serbs.

So. It is important to know exactly what Milosevic said in his speech at Kosovo Field. Yet nowhere do any of those who attack Milosevic’s speech quote his words. Why not?

Greg Elich, a researcher, unearthed a U.S. government transcript of the Kosovo Field speech. Please read it and ask: is it a hateful diatribe, reminiscent of Hitler? Or is it something quite different, something really quite different indeed?

sounds like a pretty good deal for the average libyan.

since they have a pretty solid middle class, at least, the libs would be hard pressed to claim their usual “ they resort to terrorism because of poverty” BS.

Libya Before and After Image Shows What a NATO/UN Humanitarian Mission Looks Like

The before and after picture of Libya below shows what the U.S./NATO means by a humanitarian war:

All hail humanitarian war. Regime change can be a bitch. Start with sanctions because of 'humanitarian' reasons. If they don't work, arm ragtag mercenaries and implement a 'no-fly zone' through an international body. If the rebels can't hunt down the defunct leader, then just bomb the hell out the country until a bloody carcass vaguely resembling the leader turns up. Then claim that the humanitarian intervention was a wild success. PS: Make sure you destroy enough of the infrastructure to secure a huge IMF bondage loan for reconstruction. The before and after picture of Libya below shows what the U.S./NATO means by a humanitarian war.

The move to Sirte was logical.

Qaddafi’s wife purchased a seaside compound in Albania.

Sirte had many supporters, the best armed and loyal of any of his army.

He was one fishing boat away from making a secret run to Albania.

Why he stayed is unknown and then break out to where?

Why break out in an obvious convoy, everyone yakking away on cell phones?

Sorry Qaddafi, your inability to judge the realities around you and make sound and focused decisions got you killed.

Qaddafi’s incompetence put himself in a mob’s hands and mobs did what mobs do.

The sodomy happened because muslims believe you go to heavenly judgement looking like you did when you died. That’s why they prefer beheading to prevent an afterlife. Allah would never let in someone looking like Qaddafi at death, what would the 72 virgins say? There would be a mutiny, wouldn’t make Allah look good.
