Not sure what to make about Jindal supporting Alario. There are no quotes/comments from Jindal in the piece...so his side isn't really given.
“Louisiana Ethics Reform” is an oxymoron
Sounds to this poster, like one of the potential VP candidates, just hired Karl Rove.
Not being from Louisiana, I don’t know all the ins and outs of the state laws. So, if the Legislature votes themselves a pay raise, what would it take for Jindal to stop it? I guess I’m trying to figure out why conservatives would be blaming him for that situation.
Legislatures (state and federal) could be part-time jobs with 1/10th pay, NO retirement, NO insurance, NO benefits and NO perks. These POS politicians can get a full time job doing something productive not progressive.
Their part-time job could be spent DEFUNDING/DISMANTLING socialist collectives, foreign and domestic (our government in particular).

This reads like a bitch and moan session to me. Essentially, here is what happened:
Jindal was going to be politically expedient about pay raises, but got blowback from the public and did the right thing.
He is working with a life-long political animal in his state who switched to the Republican party.
And his reform legislation was very good but not perfect, dammit.
Knowing ALL of this about Bobby Jindal, 66% of the voters re-elected him.
Repeatedly the author refers to conservative discontent, but the three cited sources of critcism are two “non-partisan” groups and the NEW YORK TIMES. The bitching about Bobby’s wife having an educational foundation was particularly galling.
People always seem to read Jindal wrong - as either a fake or as the “next great hope”. He is neither. He is smart, loyal and a superlative administrative and support guy. He is not a leader, has no fire in the belly and only trace charisma.
As an executive he will buckle and fail in the long run.
As a cabinet or staff member he was and will be a fantastic force multiplier for a strong executive.
I seriously doubt that any conservatives are upset over cuts to higher ed or that pubic scrools haven’t had any raises in spending the last three years.
