Keep in mind this is coming from someone who likes Cain personally, but who is positively certain that his nomination would not only assure President Obama’s re-election, but also the restoration of a fully Democratic Congress.

Sounds "concerned". LOL

Yet another Romneybot saying that we have to suck it up and vote for Romney, and that we probably will not take the Senate.

Where did this guy come from ????

His narrative is very 2 dimensional - he assumes things will stay constant as they are today, and there are some simple rules that govern the “ways of the world”. His analysis is terrible on Cain.

Cain has captured the imagination of the people - not the media. I'm not saying this little “scandal” won't be good for Cain - but I think Cain could easily take Obama.

A vote for Perry is a vote for Romney!

A vote for Romney is a vote for Obama!!!

Gad I'm tired of these analogies.

Ziegler’s view of the conservative media strikes me as too cynical, which makes me doubt his instincts and overall analysis. I wonder how his track record is in these kinds of things. Did he call the midterms correctly?

When did Donald Trump declare his candidacy? How did I miss that?

Just why would Ziegler's opinion count more then anyone else here at FR. If these vague accusations count for anything it is the depth of desperation that the democrats and their RINO lackeys will go to to try and stop a real American.

Establishment claptrap. Romney is the one who cannot beat Obama, and Obama knows it. He’s scared to death of Herman, because Cain can.

I guess if a conservative like Cain can’t win we need someone like McCain. That should work as well as it did last time.

“...already burnt toast thanks to the uncovering of two sexual harassment claims against him from the 1990s.”

I’d say evidence of a blue dress or a pubic hair on a coke can (DNA) is in order before the “allegations” against Cain can be taken seriously. Soros “buys” Secretaries of State, politicians, “journalists”, “revolutions”, sex and stupid women every day.

Bizarre stuff.

>>> If it is the latter, it must raise the issue (surely in a much nastier general election) of whether Cain was simply a convenient minority “spokesperson” of these groups/companies he allegedly “ran.” If Cain was simply a figurehead being used because he was a charming black man, liberals will say he benefited from affirmative action and his entire business record will be discredited.<<<

As young people say, WTF? Any proof of this anywhere by anyone? And compared to the current occupant of the White House...

>>>What is particularly stunning about the way that this is all going down is how incredibly similar Cain’s situation is to what happened with Obama in 2008.<<<

Really? You mean all the stories about little incidents throughout Obama’s life, the allegations, the minor events, every person who interacted with Obama interviewed? Similar? I recall Obama slid into office with scarcely a glance at anything, and when it became obvious, like Rev. Wright, the media gladly accepted Obama’s comment that he didn’t listen very much.

>>>Here we have an inexperienced, charismatic black man...<<<

Inexperienced? Compared to Obama’s life before the Senate? Is this man kidding? Or deluded?

There are some truths in this article - namely, the media gang rape that is going to happen against Cain. On the other hand, I’ve been on the inside of corporate culture, and those who are successful tend to be very tough, very smart, and very savvy. Combine that with being an ordained minister. Obama’s experience doesn’t fill a thimble of Herman Cain’s experience.

Any insights about the reasons why John Ziegler seems so strangely out of touch with reality here would be appreciated.

To help Herman send him something http://www.hermancain.com/
but also “like” him at facebook.com.
Facebook likes are a new way to count “buzz.” Starting from way back, Herman has increased his “likes” by 8% in just the last week. Mitts has a huge lead in “likes” but he has been running for a long time.
