I am a Cain Fan. I will not hesitate to vote for him, if he remains the most viable alternative to Mitt Romney. But as far as I'm concerned, the best thing that could come out of his campaign's inept handling of this non-scandal would be for fellow anybody-but-Romney Republicans to use this time to take a second look at Newt Gingrich. There are things that I hate about the man, but he is far more conservative than Romney, is the smartest man in the race, and would wipe the floor with Barak Obama in a debate.

There: I said it.

Cain is an amazing man, and this whole incident has made me love him all the more.

Go Cain!

Cain will be just fine. Strange how every misstep of outside of the beltway conservative is considered lethal but a rich White Rhino can flip six ways from Sunday and he’s the ‘frontrunner’. It’s a game folks. This time the American people aren’t playing and its driving those who believe THEY should be the kingmakers crazy. I don’t believe this is just liberal media. This is too very much like some of the attacks on Fred Thompson. Remember the lazy theme? The not serious theme? The one that really sticks in my mind is the one dropped by Politico claiming he was quitting just before the Iowa Caucuses which Robert Novak said was tied to the Romney camp. Same guys involved too.

I personally don’t find it inept to get the facts before responding, I find it refreshing.

Politicians have pat answers for every occasion, I’m glad Cain is not like that.

Do they hate Herman because he has a lot of fun and is not afraid to laugh?

Politico should be sued. Big time. Time to go offense. Ready the F-22 Raptors from their hangars for those bastards. They will pay. Make it serve as a lesson to any other journolists between now and election day, they are not going to get away with smears. That is all they have, and we must take even THAT away from them, so they have absolutely nothing to stand on going into Obama’s reelection campaign.

Hey Hermanator.....this one's for you...

Isaiah 54:17

'No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me, Says the LORD.'

I’ve been solidly on the Cain train since I heard him speak at the Wisconsin State House last winter. Two anonymous accusers do nothing but reinforce my support of Cain; because, like many here on FR, I’ve been expecting just this sort of attack for six months now.

In fact, the *only* thing that could have caused me some suspicion of Cain, would have been had this attack *not* happened. Now that this predictable (and quite lame) smear is here, it serves only to confirm that Cain is the real deal, folks. The Establishment (Rats and Pubes alike) are obviously terrified of the man.

Me either! If only the Cain campain hadn't denied the story before admitting that they knew about it and then saying it had no basis. Straight out of the Cliton playbook, but then a lot of smart people call Bill the greatest politician they've ever seen. My point was that the Republican nomination is either going to go to Romney, or the strongest alternative to Romeny. If that's Cain, so be it, but it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for Republicans it be giving some of the others a second look. My candidate has always been Rick Santorm, but I'm not delusional about his chances.

The only problem with Newt is Newt. He has did much better than I imagined not because I did not believe he was smart just he has not always been wise. Don’t worry Newt will also get a full investigative layout of how he met his current wife. We must be careful. I would gladly vote for Newt but I’ll not dellude myself in thinking he would be a sure thing. The only sure thing is we need to fight. Cain I believe will survive. Decade old allegations that went no where are hardly the stuff that spell campaign doom. Nor is questions about $40,000 the later which can easily be fixed and those behaving as if it wasn’t an easy mistake haven’t seen the campaign regs. He does need to get better at clarity but the level of scrutiny he is getting especially from those like Rove and Rubin and the establishment crowd. When you ask them to shine the light on Prince Romney they act like you’ve pulled out a crucifix they recoil so readily.

This is the same game they played with Angle, and O’Donnell but Cain isn’t either of them he is much more of a threat. He has a very compelling story. He when he is on a roll knows how to get people to like him and his ideas. They fear what he could become just as they feared Palin. The powerbrokers like candidates that they can control. Cain isn’t one of them.

My view on the upcoming election is that it is going to be a referreundum on who has the best ideas for fixing the economy. Independants how vote are going to be voting for or against Obama based on that question, unless the Republican candidate falls flat on his face when trying to explain his own plan. Again, I like Herman Cain a lot, but I don't think he is doing a very good job answering questions about his tax plan, and he is prone to making the sort of gaffs that can derail a primary election. Which ends up leaving us with Romney as the nominee. I don't see Gingrich making those same mistakes. I personally respect the fact that Gingrich has converted to Catholicism and take him at his word until he gives me a reason to suspect otherwise. We are all sinners. I don't expect the electorate to do so, but, again, in this election I see independents discounting character issues in favor of the guy the see as most likely to get the economy moving. They'd have to do so in order to elect Romney. Herman Cain is a great story, and would be an interesting choice as VP or for a cabinet position, but the "I'm not a politician" thing only goes so far.

They fear what he could become just as they feared Palin. The powerbrokers like candidates that they can control. Cain isn’t one of them.

A Lot of people on this website are confused about how the left views Sarah Palin. They didn't fear her, they never bothered to get to know her. The saw more of Tina Fey's impersonations of her than they did the genuine article. They were convinced that she was a complete idiot, a bigger idiot than they believed George W Bush was -all conservatives are either puppets or puppet masters to a liberal's eyes. What they feared was the fact that she could be elected president, as idiots like Bush and Reagan had been before her, not any dangerous ideas that she herself had. They fear Gingrich, because they understand that he is brilliant. No one is going to control Gingrich, and they know it. It is for that reason that he occasionally comes up with a position that leaves conservatives scratching their heads, but he is his own man, and we be certain that that position originated between his own ears, not between Carl Rove's or one of the Koch brothers. Let me address A lot of people on this website are confused about how

To me, the fact that he would actively sing the praises of Jesus Christ and EVANGILIZE journalists is enough to get my vote. A man with that much courage and conviction has true mettle.

You know what? There's this cool website called Google. On it the user can search for current news stories on any topic of interest. For examples, a recent search for "Cain Campaign Denies Sexual Harassment at Restaurant Group" turned up 2469 articles published earlier today, in an initial response to the original Politico article. The preliminary campaign response to this story was that it was based on unnamed sources, and was therefore not credible. That changed later in the day to Cain was "vaguely familiar" with the allegations. Now we are at "there were two instances of complaints, the company paid the women off to avoid further headaches." Personally, I am convinced that Cain never did anything wrong except in handling the story in the first place. Maybe his handlers need to familiarize themselves with Google too. You certainly do, before you lob any more idiotic accusations on this website.

It has become a familiar pattern on this website, that whenever some posts something less than flattering about a particular candidate, a least one wingnut goes man and the boat overboard defending him (or her). Personally, I look forward to voting Cain, if he ends up presenting as the viable alternative to Romney. I'm waiting to be convinced that that is what ends up happening.

These kind of accusations will keep coming up every week or so, as long as Cain is a contender for nomination. None will be credible but it will be enough to persuade voters of his liability as being a target. Besides, he will be having to spend his media time defending himself, not discussing the issues, which is his strong point.

A Cain vs. Obama campaign will not be permitted to happen at all cost..This is not rocket science.

Professing his faith unashamedly shows the courage of Herman Cain. We Christians have accepted being beaten down for far too long!
