Was the solution to “go Galt” and quit society? No, Rand again answered. Maybe she read The Naked Communist. I believe it was written in 1958. That pretty well outlines how we got to here from then.
Atlas Shrugged came before 1958.
It is being waged at this moment. At this point in time, we are losing because we are in denial as to what is actually happening.

She got it half right. Her failure to understand the solution is because of her atheism. She does not acknowledge the necessity of absolute standards of right and wrong. This country is based on just such a necessity. The resolution will come when progressivism is recognized and condemned as the enemy of our culture.
Even more fascinating to me was the techniques she enumerated in “The Fountainhead” that Elsworth Toohey’s various organizations used to gain influence. It is almost the same roadmap that the Left uses today. I’m not sure if she was a “prophet” or just a very astute observer. Or maybe a little of both?
Just goes to show that there is very little new under the sun.
