A couple years ago my 6-year old son was at an event where he got to meet President Obama and Mrs. Obama. I know. But It was a chance for him to meet a sitting U.S. president, even if such a lousy one.

Anyhow the event took place along a rope line. My son is at the front of the crowd at the rope. Barack Obama makes his way along the rope saying pleasantries to the folks. When he gets to my son he bends way over and says “Hi there, how are you? Thanks for coming”. Or some such. My son ate it up. Thought it was great. Next, separated by about two minutes, comes Mrs. O. What she actually said to my son and he back I’ll never really know, because this is a six-yr-old conveying information, but when asked he said: The President was nice, but that lady was mean”.

Apparently his impression was a combination of her somewhat scary appearance and her not listening to him or understanding what he had to say. To this day, when he sees pictures of her, he’ll blurt out, “She was not nice!”.

Being a true native of Chicago I have seen this type of woman. Always mad thinking the world owes them something. Here was a woman making 300K and complaining about having to pay for student loans. Nobody told her to go to Princeton, she could have went to Chicago State since she acts like she went there anyway.
