You’re so wrong. Why don’t you read his full statement?

Thank you onyx. They only use African, Hispanic American or whatever to further racial discord. It’s so silly. I don’t give a hoot if they are pink with purple polka dots. Are they American and can they lead this country in the right direction?

I guess that's the problem with Cain -- no matter what you think he said, he's also got a quote saying something else.
Cain: I prefer Black American:
I prefer black American, Cain told NBCs Meet the Press. My roots go back through slavery in this country. Yes, they came from Africa, but the roots of my heritage are in the United States of America. So I consider myself a black American.
This is the quote I was referencing; he doesn't like being called an "African-American", he said he considered himself a "black American".
So who cares that some otehr time he said something different. Or are we only allowed to use the quotes YOU like?

I am an American. Black. Conservative. I don't use African-American, because I'm American, I'm black and I'm conservative

I don’t always disagree. But I didn’t think quoting Cain would be disagreeable. It’s been a while since I got attacked for using the wrong quote from a candidate.
