Richmond Tea Party Sues City: Charge #Occupy Protesters Or Refund $10,000 For Rallies at Plaza

The Richmond Tea Party is demanding a refund from the city for $10,000 it spent on for permits, portable toilets, police presence and emergency personnel for three rallies held at same plaza where the Occupy Richmond squatters set up their camp. The Republic reported:

The Richmond tea party is demanding a refund of about $10,000 from the city, claiming it unfairly charged them for rallies while allowing the Occupy protesters to use the same space for several weeks for free.

The political organization is sending the city an invoice for the charges incurred for three rallies held in Kanawha Plaza over the past three years. The Occupy protesters have been camped in the plaza since Oct. 15.

Richmond Tea Party spokeswoman Colleen Owens says it’s not fair that her group had to pay fees for permits, portable toilets, police presence and emergency personnel. The group also had to purchase a $1 million insurance policy.

If the TEA Party had to pay for all of these things, the fleabagging freeloaders should also have to pay. If they don’t, the TEA Party should have their money refunded to them.

Good for them. This should be done by every group treated like this.

Clearly fair. I wonder what argument the city will come up with to weasel out of it.

How much would it cost to deploy the water cannons against these dirty hippies? I’d chip in.

Sorry Richmond Tea Party. You were nice people. Only a-holes, commies, and morons get free rallies.

You would think that any city would love to have the Tea Party as regulars versus the camping marxists malcontents that are there now. Just look at what the overtime in police presence is costing these cities...

Every TEA Party group should do this and a ‘press release’ to go along with it. Dare I say even call the press to cover them delivering the demand directly to the mayor’s of these cities.

How much did we pay in Washington DC to rally and demand our redress of grievances?

I posted this on another thread where another Freeper sarcastically referred to Steve Jobs as "a bright shining example of humanity" because he never was known for giving money to charitable causes, while singing the praises of Bill Gates, who gives loads of money to "charitable causes" (Scare quotes are mine)

(NOTE: This post was not about Steve Jobs, because the man was flawed in many ways and this was not in "defense" of him, but was rather an illustration that perhaps if Bill Gates was more like Steve Jobs, many anti-American, scumbag leftist groups wouldn't be nearly as well funded.) My posting was as follows:

BEGIN EXCERPT

Quoted from another website: "...The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, with assets of $29 billion as of 2005, has focused on the “population” side of the “problem” in the past, sending billions of dollars in grants to such pro-abortion groups as Planned Parenthood; Population Action International, Population Services International, the Alan Guttmacher Institute, and the Population Resource Center. Gates has also financed such organizations as the [Soros supported] Tides Center, the Tides Foundation, the National Council of La Raza, and has supported a gun control initiative in Washington state..."

Most liberals just love to hear what a "bright and shining example of humanity" Bill Gates is because of the billions of dollars he has donated. Most liberals don't have the wherewithal, energy or mental acuity to scratch below the surface on ANY issue, but if they did on this issue, they would get on their liberal knees and sing hosannas to Bill and Melinda Gates.

But the hate of Steve Jobs by some people, including many conservatives, trumps all. Personally, I wish Bill Gates had BURNED his damned bloody money instead of doing the heavy living for the like of the Tides Foundation, La Raza and the like.

But hey. Bill Gates is a good guy doing the work that Obama and his ilk just can't accomplish because selfish, lousy conservatives in and out of government are in the way of Uncle Sam having an open checkbook. Bill can just GIVE all his money to causes we absolutely detest, and we just love him for that, don't we?

I just wonder how much of those lovely billions of dollars donated by that "bright and shining example of humanity" ended up allowing this display of "bright and shining humanity" that I ran into during one of the counter-protests I participated in down in Washington?

I always wondered...who paid the money to allow the closure of the Memorial Bridge across the Potomac to Arlington National Cemetery (where this picture was taken)? Who paid for the porta-potties the liberals set up? Who paid for the busses to bring this liberal scum to protest outside Arlington? Who paid for the signs they carried?

I wonder...who? Who paid for all that? Hmm. What "bright and shining example of humanity" made all that possible? I am sure it all came from $5 donations in cans from mom's and pop's in front of supermarkets all across America, right?

Right?

END EXCERPT

Yeah. Who indeed supplies the money? This graphic below is, again, from Jeff Head's great website at OCCUPY WALL STREET: WHAT IS IT AND WHY . I agree with Jeff Head in this, in that money that flows into those giant liberal piggy banks like the Tides Foundation finds its way into all of these things we see as blots on the goodness of this country of ours. They wouldn't advertise it, but it is a fair bet that, instead of denying it if asked directly, would smile broadly at the success of funding these leftist, anti-American movements.

My advice in the posting above was basically a suggestion to find some other "bright shining example of humanity" as a contrast to Steve Jobs, because I don't accept Bill and Melinda Gates as the appropriate contrast.

Need to add a detergent as well.

Hmmm ... I wonder if these encampments would qualify as a toxic dump? Wouldn't it be a hoot to have the EPA go after these places?

Of course, it will never happen, it would be like sharks and lawyers, they recognize the own.

Yep - they're civil, don't destroy property, and pay their own way which helps the localized economy vs. freeloading and draining local resources at cost to business'es and taxpayers. Another reason for the Left to hate them - they set a good example....
