De León Mexican ‘gun flow’ meeting confirms predictions(gunwalker)

Senator says ATF “no-show” directed by DOJ

“Officials aim to halt flow of guns and ammo to Mexican cartels,” Corey Moore of Southern California Public Radio reports. He’s referring to State Senator Kevin de León’s Select Committee on Immigration and the Economy community meeting in Los Angeles Tuesday, “California’s Gun and Ammo Pipeline to the Mexican Drug Cartels.” Gun Rights Examiner alerted readers to it on Monday, with the expectation that “Project Gunwalker” would be ignored and that “Authorized Journalists” in attendance would ask no questions challenging panel talking points.

That has been confirmed. As well as has been the expectation that the meeting was really about stumping for standardized nationwide citizen disarmament (anti-gunner protestations in other venues over “home rule” notwithstanding). “Republican” Los Angeles County Sheriff and oath-breaking “Only One” Lee Baca bemoaned expiration of the “federal assault weapons ban,” and de León’s outrage over ATF’s involvement in abetting cross-border murders was limited to “[deep concern] that some in Congress are more focused on distracting the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms from their core mission and getting to the bottom of failed policies of the past.”

Mexican authorities say most of the 75,000 illegal firearms they’ve seized in recent years came from the U.S.

"Most” evidently now substitutes for “90%” and “80%” and “70%,” and of course there was no admission of Mexican and Central American police and military corruption having anything to do with the actual non-gun store/gun show ordnance the cartels have access to…

There was a surprise at the meeting: ATF was a no-show. A correspondent and activist who attended, who has asked to be identified in this report only as "Threeper George S.," recorded closing statements for the meeting (click on sidebar media player) as well as his own questioning of Sen. de León

The meeting was staged political theater, called by the committee of one, California State Senator de Leon, as I recall from the previous report. Very interesting that the BATF backed out on orders from DOJ at the last minute.

No government agency, especially enforcement agencies, should be involved in shaping policy other than to turn over collected data. That is not their core mission or anything they should be doing in the least of their activities.
