Here's what my belief is based on:
2 Cor 9:7
7 Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
“Did Sharpton offer a REASON that government programs were superior to private charity? Or is that just an assumption in his worldview? Here’s what my belief is based on:
“2 Cor 9:7: Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
Though the “Rev.” Al and the “Rev.” Jesse claim to be preachers, I don’t think they believe scriptures such as 2 Thessalonians 3:10:
“For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: ‘The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.’” (NIV).
The two “Revs.” preach the Commie Manifesto, not the Good Book.
If you leave public assistance to private charity rather than goobermint handouts, the charity givers are going to be more selective in whom to give to and may choose not to give to able-bodied people who refuse to work.
"Where's my g*ddamn money muthaf***a?"
I think it would be difficult or impossible to argue that any charity could possibly provide the benefits that medicare currently does given medicares huge (tax vs benefit) deficits that will only be growing. See this morning's thread showing bankrupt medicare:
The payroll taxes used to finance Part A Medicare benefits (hospital, nursing home, home health, and hospice care) dont finance the rest of Medicare (physician and other outpatient services, pharmaceuticals, durable medical equipment, and preventive services). So over a lifetime, Medicare beneficiaries typically receive two to six dollars in benefits for every dollar they paid in Medicare payroll taxes (figure 5.6a).
Is Medicare also a Ponzi Scheme?(10/24/2011 | Christopher J. Conover )
SS is running deficits too as FICA tax was cut.
No charity can print its own money like the Feds do.. Sharpton's claim is you will always get better benefits from a government with the power to take it and give it to you than a person's generousity and right now it is true with current beneficiaries.
Really, no charity would NEED to print money like the feds do, because there would be an inherent “do you really need this” policy that the feds don’t apply.
The beneficiaries view of 'need' is completely different than the taxpayer's view which is a reason entitlements run huge deficits, medicare the most disasterous and growing cause of future insolvency.
Cancer treatments are very expensive but to a beneficiary it's life and death but may not been seen as necessary to the healthy taxpayer. I know I am pessimistic on this subject, for good cause.
Well, of COURSE Sharpton would slam him over charity vs handouts.
Sharpton’s a parasite. Cain’s a self-made man.
Sharpton despises ANYONE who isn’t a parasite. And a successful self-made man, especially a prominent black American self-made man, is clearly a threat to Sharpton’s gravy train.
Jesse, Rev Al, etc., become more and more despicable every time they open their pie-holes. They also become more of a joke as well.
Sharpton should run for a seat in Greece’s parliament. He would feel so much more comfortable over there.
I have no problem throwing a set of dittos after your comments. They don’t get much farther left then the socialist you mentioned.
I don’t know who is more pathethic - charlatans Jesse and Sharpton, or the assclowns who actually BELIEVE the garbage they spout.
You can forgive just plain ignorance in some folks; but deliberate manipulation, grievance0mongering and race-baiting will one day get large amounts of people killed in race-fueled conflict.
Sometimes, I truly believe this is what they want to see...which is suicidal, ultimately.
