That's the oath of tyranny.
“One thing I find very interesting - when Rick Perry came out and said he would bypass Congress with his energy plan, although I think he used the term “executive action” instead of “executive order”, the media flipped out. Barry is going to do it and the media is talking about him trying to save peoples homes or jobs or whatever. Lovely double-standard.”
The situations aren’t morally equivalent. Perry would be undoing Obamalini’s unlawful acts. Here Obama is contemplating another set of unconstitutional diktats. Undoing these would also not be morally equivalent to their imposition.
They were never intended as a way for Democrat presidents to get around Republican/Divided congresses.
Silly Obama!
The Presidential spokesperson resorts to fallcies (emotional pleas) to make his argument?
Nuts
Such a position would be a hard sell in a pluralistic and democratic republic such as the US.
A man who would secretly deal machine-guns and grenades to drug barons —what things that he COULD do would he decide for moral reasons to NOT do?
List them:
1.
2.
3.
Smell of IMPEACHMENT is in the air. Obama would never be convicted by the Senate but his bony ass will be IMPEACHED by the House and he will have a legacy he so justly deserves. Time for somebody in the Democratic Party to wise up boy socialist wonder that America has had enough of this POS POTUS.
Why does Congress show up for work? Why are we paying them? It’s not like they’re needed these days. Not with the Exaulted Grand Poobah of MEEEEEEE! making all the decisions.
It is almost as if there were no opposition party.
Really. Go head- try to find a GOP response. You won't. Not even on FOX.
Imagine, if you will a Republican President (it wasn't so long ago - was it?) announcing his intention to act unilaterally, employing Executive Orders in place of legislation.
How long would it have been before Democrats responded and had their response broadcast on every news network imaginable?
Never mind that the news media would have done so without prompting, insofar as the response would reflect their own opinions.
The GOP doesn't even try.
Are they really that incompetent? Frankly, I'm beginning to have my doubts.
America desperately needs a party committed to individual freedom and opposed to collectivism. That used to be the Party of Reagan.
Where are they now?
Oh. They're supporting Mitt Romney. A Progressive. Of course.
Quo vadis, America?
This Obama guy has more solutions than there are problems.
And yet the Rats tried to claim that the other Democrat who said that Congressional elections should be suspended was joking.
It’s about pushing through paperwork in the absence of legislative support. It’s a dictatorship folks.
And Obambi was just acting like a dictatorship was a “bad” thing. At least the next President can repeal all of his Odors with the swift movement of a penstroke.
Who could have “Standing” to challenge the Constitutionality of Executive Orders that are being used to circumvent the Congress? A State Attorney General (maybe Cuccinelli of VA)? What Court would be willing to go against the Holder Injustice Department and rule on such an Action?
And how does he fund ‘executive’ orders?
Who has to follow them, businesses in the private sector?
And why is he panicking now if he knew Bush was ruining the economy?
Did he think he knew how to fix the economy or was he talking smack?
He isn't the first President to abuse the power, either.
The poster meant that an executive order can only be undone by an executive order. That said, however, there may be circumstances in which an executive order could be legitimate, and that’s why the possibility exists - but not simply when you don’t get your way in Congress, which is what Bambi is doing.
Heck, he’s just announced that he’s not even going to try Congress first; he’s not even pretending anymore.
If the GOP candidate were to get elected, issuing EO’s to repeal all Obama’s EO’s seems fair game. Anything more than that makes them culpable of being dictatorial and hypocritical as well.
