What Explains the Left's Affinity for OWS and Abhorrence of the Tea Party?
The American Thinker ^ | 10/22/2011 | Monte Kuligowski

The 99ers, which more accurately are 22ers, have no coalescing message other than a desire for a central command-and-control government, whether nationally or globally. In other words, they share the kindred spirit of redistributive fairness with our puerile president. Initially we saw the Muslim Brotherhood uprising, and now, with the Wall Street Spring, Barack Obama is causing democracy to break out everywhere!

First, Barack Obama said the Wall Street Occupiers express "the frustration of the American people." Then, while honoring MLK at the dedication of the new memorial in Washington, Obama channeled the late civil rights leader in support of the protesters: "Dr. King would want us to challenge the excesses of Wall Street without demonizing those who work there."

That's interesting, because I cannot remember Obama proclaiming that the Tea Party protesters express the frustration of the American people. I do remember Obama leaving town to campaign for Obamacare in Minnesota on the day several hundred thousand Tea Party protesters descended on Washington in 2009 to make their voices heard. (They left the grounds so clean that maybe Obama never knew they were there.)

And, so far as I can recall, Obama has never argued that Dr. King would want us to challenge the excesses of the federal government without demonizing those who work there.

The Tea Party sees the Wall Street bailouts and the government money sent to the politically connected and wants it ended.

OWS sees that and wants it redirected to them.

Obama is a MARXIST! Whatever facilitates Marxism is just fine with him. He is basically a latter day Stalin in a Brooks Brothers suit. When the usefulness of the OWS mobs is over they will be disposed of like so much litter. God save the Republic.

My brother, my own flesh and blood, is a bleeding liberal with a real disgust for anything on the right. We were raised in the same house. Same parents. Have relatively the same education.

We are as opposite in opinion as two people can be.

I've never understood how he cannot see how incorrect he is. Nor can he understand how I cannot see the same.

Life is funny like that.

The Tea Party is made up of people who are typically married, over 50, make on average $75,000 a year, have raised a family, have served in the military, and believe in more freedom and less government.

The Flea Party? Just the opposite. Next question.

LOL my liberal sister in Livonia is upset because they feel like they have to move because all their neighbors have gone insane and become republicans over the last few years.

They’re going to take one hell of a hit on their $300,000 house because home values in her neighborhood have fallen by nearly $200,000.

As I told her, maybe that’s why her neighbors have “gone insane”.

Your brother story is interesting.

Mine is not the same, as I am an only child. But I am from the Upper West Side of Manhattan, Jewish, Republican, conservative on most issues. I should have been just another typical West Side liberal, another brain dead DemoRat, but I have always loved America and ALWAYS disliked the left since I was a kid.

As you aptly said, ‘life is funny like that.’

Ahhh, my DC Tea Party's. I had to hold back tears of pride, jubilance and joy just being surrounded by people like me (I was feeling a little alone beforehand).

I have never felt so “at home” as I did with ALL my Tea Party's, local and “abroad”.

Where were these a$$holes when WE were out there trying to prevent the bailouts?

They were at home, or in their college classes pointing at us calling us racist’s and other unscrupulous names.

Now they're crying about it. Useful idiots.

...have no coalescing message other than a desire for a central command-and-control government, whether nationally or globally.

Correction: they want a central command and control government that will take from those who produce and give to THEM.

It's the same moral position of a thief. The thief WANTS what the worker has and doesn't want to get it by working so he takes what he wants by force. Occupiers WANT what their parents have - but they don't want to work and save, and budget and make good choices. They want to scream like a two year old and have it handed to them.

Same thing for me. At Thanksgiving we always start out by saying "no politics." But then he starts up and the war is on.

Same here. I am 58 yrs old, my brother is 54 yrs old, and he runs a pre-cast mfg plant in CA. He voted for 0dumb0 is 2008 and his reply to my question of why, was "what about Bush". I said WHAT ABOUT BUSH? Bush's problem is that Bush pandered too much to the liberals & lefties & demoRATs.

Now that 0dumb0 is destroying & bankrupting our country every day, I never miss an opportunity to bash 0dumb0 & the demoRATs in front of my brother. For the most part, he just stays silent. And even though his company is losing money & business in socialist CA, he will pull the lever once again for the RAT bastard demoRAT commie pigs, including 0dumb0.
